• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ignition switch problem

JohnE

RT-S PE-0539
I have had electrical problems with my RT-S since it was delivered. Has had battery replaced twice. Sometimes will not power up when key is turned on. Has had unexplained fault codes. Some of the lights in instrument cluster do not work . Dealer replaced instrument cluster, light still out in cluster. Dealer talked to BRP tech support yesterday and BRP said to replace the ignition switch and lock on trunk. Appears they have had a problem with some switches key code search function not shutting down when key is removed. This draws power from battery and kills the battery after a few days when bike is not run. Thought that was great, finally will get this problem fixed . Well today dealer called and said no switches in stock and none on order. Dealer called BRP and got the same story no planned date when these switched will be available . Dealer asked BRP how was he going to fix my RT if this part is not available . BRP rep said he did not know. Told dealer he would call back tomorrow. I am starting to get real frustrated with all this. This is unbelievable . I have never heard of a company that did not have parts to repair a new vehicle. Just totally amazed. Anyone else have a similar experience?

Just wanted to post an update to switch parts issue. Spoke with BRP and dealer this morning and they seemed to find a solution to the parts problem. Guess they have other P/N's listed that are in stock. Understand they will be in sometime next week. This restores my faith in BRP. I wanted to update this issue to a positive as I really don't like posting negative stuff. It just has been a lot of frustration.

John,

Make sure they also order the extra lockset that would be inserted in the RT-622 trailer, if you were to decide to order one. That way, all locks are keyed alike. They should be able to do this since that is standard practice.

I think this will require a new SES (security) module, too, but I'm not positive. Better ask your dealer up front, just to make sure. Have them look it up, This is nothing to shoot from the hip on, and few dealers have ever done this work.

This must be an unusual problem.Dealer talked to several Tech Reps and only one remembered a problem like this. Rep told Dealer that symptoms matched mine and he was almost positive this would fix the problem.
