Should be about 20 miles or so I believe. You have to cross over the mountain from Cherokee to Maggie Valley. It is a very nice ryde, and better when there isn't a lot of cage traffic.

wow thats pretty far... i guess no mainstream hotels they could book a block of rooms at in Maggie Valley . Staying at the Alamo ... bringing our puppy. but I think they are booked up already at the Alamo.

Well I bit the bullet and decided to stay both nights. I got a room at the Smokey Falls Lodge for a pretty nice rate! They still have as of this posting 5 larger King-Queen Suites left for that weekend. So a big :thumbup: to Lamont for the tip. See you all there.

Somebody must of heard I was going to be there so they moved to another hotel :dontknow:

Alamo Motel in Maggie Valley

I just learned that the Alamo Motel has 2 cottages now available due to cancellations. One of them is only available thru Fri night. The Alamo is very pet friendly.

i put the time in, I wonder if they have any handicrapp rooms there or any where else, it is a major draw back to being in a wheelchair, before I got hurt I would stay anywhere, peoples couches, all I needed was a blanket and pillow.

Got to figure out where to stop on the trip, its 1200 miles to lamounts and another 70 to maggie valley. just need a place to stay, was going to go thru rockford IL and down to Indy and south then east.

Last month i stayed at the hollyday hotel, very nice people , tell them the rocket guys say hi.
