• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

If its the last thing I do.....

Insurance may only be in midwest, but farm bureau,or Western Ag. ins. was $276 for a year. Thanks for Service and My Wife love diving Spyder.

Wow you guys are awesome! I wasn't expecting such a fast response to my questions. I totally appreciate the help! I bank with USAA (the best bank in the world if u ask me and they just opened up their membership to more people so if your not a member I would check out their site and see if you qualify) so i will definitely check out their rates for financing and insurance. Thankfully the Army sponsors a motorcycle safety course on post for free so people like myself who are total clutzes can learn how to ride without killing everyone around them.

I've already downloaded all of the pictures of the spyders from the website and I made one of them my desktop background on my computer. Yep Im in love.

For all of the thanks for my service.....all i can say is that im not the one making the sacrifice. Its our loved ones that we leave behind at home that deserve all the praise. I dont know how THEY do it.

I will definitely take everyones advice to heart and check out the info you all sent me.

By the way WAR EAGLE!!! (I saw that ROLL TIDE reference)

My wife did exactly the same thing before she bought hers. You are hooked. What a great thing to look forward to. You won't be sorry.

G'mornin ArmyGurl! To start, Thanks again for your continued sacrfice in serving that we may continue to enjoy what our founding fathers gave us - our Freedom!

As to your questions, I would think by the time you buy a Spyder, the dealerships that are just now starting out, will have gained a lot more experience and be better suited to handle the maintenance of a Spyder. There will be better ones and not so

I still have the stock windshield. You will be using a full face helmet most likely, and as such, it will take care of most of the wind. I am waiting for the new factory windshield ( being released in the spring) which appears to be designed as a touring windshield. Deflects air around body and arms. Will still need the full face helmet.

In the midwest I have Country Companies, and as someone else pointed out, usually run much cheaper than the big guys. $312 a year for me. Additionally, my local credit union beat everyone else - 4.85%

Lastly, I have owned my share of different bikes, and by far this is the most fun I have ever had legally! This thing is an absolut blast to ride, handles great, and does not produce the same fatique of riding that other bikes have.

Hope that helps - we all look forward to your safe and quick return - be proud of yourself (we are)!

:2thumbs::2thumbs: nothing more to be said... all the spyder peeps above said it all... just come home safe and sound.

Morning, ARMY GURL! welcome

My husband and I are both former Marines with a daughter that is a Lt. now. (Thankfully in CA) I am definately proud we served and more proud of those who continue to serve. U GO GURL! :2thumbs: Stay safe!

I got my Spyder in May 2008. Never rode a motorcycle (or four wheeler) I had a hard time with a bicycle!! roflmao (literaly). Anyway, I love the spyder and have put 5500 miles on it!! It is so comfortable and stable!! I am sooooo glad I got one. YOU will love it!!

I got some extra's on mine - one that helped with my ins. co. was a security alarm. I got a scorpion. Plus, I took it over to the ins. co. because they had no idea what it was. I also have a "F1" windshield. Plus, I got another exhaust. (sounds better to me) You can see my bike in my photo album on this site and also at http://www.flickr.com/photos/clonspyderlady/

well, stay safe hope you get to come home soon! And for the first Saturday in DEC - sorry - but GO NAVY!

Service Credit Union.

ArmyGurl,

We also are looking at getting a :spyder:, and have been compairing rates for fianancing and insurance.

For fianancing check our "Service Credit Union"....thier rates beat all the other credit unions and USAA.

For insurance - I would have to agree, for our region (Northwest FL), the Lizard is the way to go - quoted just under $700 for the year, with a minor on the policy too.

Hope this helps! Stay safe and we'll be looking forward to your return!

Go NAVY!! :coffee:
