• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. "IF" BRP comes out with a Touring Spyder...

You know---- after looking at the 'leaked' marketing photo again--- the text where ours says 'Rotax 990' does look like it might have 4 digits.....:spyder:

I love my :spyder:.

My husband is REALLY considering setting aside his goldwing and getting another bike........he has mentioned a spyder, maybe the touring mod would be what gets him in the web!!

:roflblack::ohyea:

I'm torn.... I also have the fantasy of hitting 100k before upgrading, but my knees may not last that long. I often just rest both legs straight out over the panels... but if the new model is anything like the leaked shots.....

Sorry, but even if its twice the price, I may jump right in.

* keep in mind, I don't own a car.... so the Spyder, is my car.
:2thumbs::ani29:

Keeping what i have for now I would rather see BRP get the problems sorted out with the current models.
A true sport model with 1200cc's, no nanny, dual pipes and fully adjustable suspension could change my mind though..LOL

I love my current Spyder. The only way I would think of getting another would be to own two. Thing is... I am the only rider in the house. My wife is content to be a passenger. A bigger engine and more comforts would be nice though. :thumbup:

Nope. We actually plan on trying to get a second one used that had been traded in just for that reason. Seems like a good opportunity to get a good deal. :2thumbs:

Figure I'll hang on to my SE5 till it's 5 years old. Should take BRP at least that long to get the bugs out of the new model. Won't consider upgrading to anything but a touring model, either. Too expensive reconfiguring their "sports" model.

With any luck, the release of a new model will reduce the resale value of the existing models. Then I can score a deal on one for my g/f, who would really like her own! :2thumbs:

Anyone here think they'll come out with a smaller spyder? Perhaps have a 650cc engine so as to get better mileage?

I know we would like to think of a beefier, faster Spyder...but with the economy and such, perhaps an $11k Spyder would be a better call for them...or better yet, a $25k and an $11k Spyder...

Thoughts?

Well, my BMW F650GS has a dual plug one cylinder Rotax engine. The bike weighs around 400 lbs. and usually gets 70 mph. 100 mph on the expressway can happen and there is more, but it is geared for on and off road, so I would not expect that much more. So 650 could do it, but they have a 800 which would give good muscle and economy.

Yes, I agree, a three tier family would be nice.

I forget who posted it, but they said when they sell their Spyder, they would give it away for free . . . . . BUT, the buyer would have to pay MSRP for the add-ons and accessories. From what I have seen, 25k would be a bargain given what the average Spyder tourer has spent ( including shipping, tax, and installation ).

One thing that might get me to move to a new model is if BRP goes back to their "roots" and does an Off-Road Spyder - a Sport-ATV. I know the Spyder is their On-Road product, but if it can do expressways AND rough terrain - I will be drooling all over the showroom floor.

Anyone got time for a nasty greasy rumor on the 2010's?

Well my sources tell me 3 models all the same CC.Regular,some options, and kick *ss layed out.
Hope to post from the dealer show,but I'm old and loooooow tech.

Good chance I will be going though.

I wouldn't trade mine in.
I have my chair mount on now and still have room for a passenger, with the luggage bags on the touring model i would have zero place for my chair mount. The only thing I want is a bigger engine.
But if they offered a new sport model minus the luggage bags with an engine "a la VMAX" i would get that.

I wouldn't say that. :doorag:

I think that has already happened. My dealer has 2008 Spyders--- BRAND NEW--- for $11,300.

Nope .... mine is a keeper. More hp to pull a heavier bike ... no thanks.
