• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Idiots in Cages

Waiting at a merge lane today the car in front of me moved out so I moved up as well. Next thing I know the driver decides not to merge but rather back up right into me. Then realizes and drives into traffic almost causing an accident. By the time I could merge car was gone

I have to pull off the grill, trim and the front nose as all are cracked. It doesn't look like anything major but the parts look to cost somewhere around $550. I will be able to do the work myself which helps and will be a good project on a rainy weekend.

I have trouble believing how stupid people are.

The only thing that seems a bit out of shape is the frunk lid seems to be sitting a little to high but I expect that is because the nose has been pushed down a bit.

What a pita

PS. Don't get to close to the car in front of you as you can never tell what kind of a bonehead move they will make

Bummer...

I always give them lots of room. I also position myself so I can get out of the way if possible. But sometimes there is nowhere to go....if your going it alone check cheapcycleparts.com for better prices..:banghead:

what a mess , sorry to hear your bad day ride ! { did anyone happen too pull over or help out the other cars ? might have a tag number ... }

Glad you are okay.
If this was a commercial area, I suggest seeing if there are any businesses that may have outward facing security cameras that may help identify the vehicle. As well as reporting this to the police who may be able to assist. You never know, this driver could have caused another accident, or a witness may have reported it.
Good luck.

Dashcam opportunity

Sure would have been nice if a dashcam would have caught that act. Lucky so far, but I have mounted the INNOVV K1 dashcam to capture such idiot moves. Hopefully I never will.

Hope your repairs go easily.

When we're in traffic: we always take note of the available license plates around us... nojoke
We've never had to use the info; but it's better to have it, and not need it.

Thanks for well wishes and advice

unfortunately the area is mostly residential and there are no cameras around as I checked on the way home last night. While reporting to the police may lead to something my general experience with this sort of thing is that this is a waste of my time, unless the $ involved are sufficiently large. It is a good idea to note the license plates around and the idea of staying back is the best advice. However in morning rush hour traffic people in the cages hate to see any amount of open space and tend to nose up behind me so there is a limit to what I can do.

Regardless a lesson learned and I will certainly be more cautious in the future. I firmly believe however that in this case the person in the car would have backed up into me even if I had been in my SUV so it wasn't a not being visible type of issue.
