• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

ICON helmets

Oops! Meant to start this as a new thread, with new inquiry to the forum. I'm thinking about getting an Icon helmet, have never had this brand before but heard very good things. My only hesitation with online order was when a reviewer online said that their sizing chart is incorrect. Have any of you had this problem? Opinions in general of this helmet brand? Thanks!

Recommended that purchase of helmets be done where you can try several sizes of the brand you are interested in. Helmet fit is very important. Once you know the size that fits you of a particular brand, its then easy to shop.

I do recommend purchasing from the local dealer if possible and I practice what I suggest. If the price is really out of line locally--then shop elsewhere.

RE: Icon--they have good reviews in the cycle magazines--but I have never used that particular brand.

Have fun shopping and let us know what you end up with.

My wife has the ICON Alliance helmet in HiVIZ Yellow . She finds the helmet very comfortable and not too heavy for all day riding comfort. The helmet has adequate venting .

The sizing chart was correct for her but I would suggest that you go to retailer and try one on first to make sure that the helmet fits properly and there are no pressure points that will bother you. My wife bought hers a local power sports retailer where she could try it on.

When I called ICON about lens cleaning I was told to stay away from" PLEXUS" as it will cause the shield to turn yellow. I use a glass cleaner that is safe for lexan, plastic and tinted windows and also contains no ammonia. Hope this helps.
