• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I wish people would put the topic. In this section

That's just as bad as when Lamont had TapaTalk enabled. Folks would put half the message in the subject lines of responses. Tapatalk didn't pick up the subject line after the first post so often the body of the post was meaningless. Could I get posters to change? H*** no! :banghead: Lamont's quitting use of Tapatalk rendered that issue moot.
Moot for Tapatalk maybe, but it's still a problem in another situation.

Sometimes people respond to a topic by putting half their response in the title, and the remainder in the body. Fine. Very cute. But if that post gets quoted the quotation box does not copy the title portion, leaving the body of the quote with only half the original message. Gibberish!

Quite true. I've found myself having to go back to the original post that is partially quoted in a reply post because I'm trying to figure out what all the commenting is about!

Don't let this distract you from the fact that in 1966, Al Bundy scored four touchdowns in a single game while playing for the Polk High School Panthers in the 1966 city championship game versus Andrew Johnson High School, including the game-winning touchdown in the final seconds against his old nemesis, "Spare Tire" Dixon.

In my opinion, all topics should be spyder related anyway. If I want to see a non-related video, hear a bad joke, or hear fake news, I will go somewhere else. Lamont should do away with the OFF-TOPIC forum. Seems like some people on here watch youtube all day and think you should too.
Now that would be a mistake. If that were to happen then people would post their off-topic posts in any forum they wanted to and it would be hard to ignore. So to the OCP (Original Cranky Poster) take a look at the forum the post is in, avoid those forums you have no interest in, and move on! Breathe in Breathe Out, move on! You will live longer and be happier! Merry Christmas!

Not necessarily.

Some of the most highly respected forums, on a variety of subjects, do not have an "off topic" sub-forum and closely police the posts.

True that this eliminates a scant few people who just CAN'T BEAR the thought of not being able to "preach" on their favorite subject and/or start heated arguments. I think this is a good thing.

My vote would be to keep the Off-Topic sub-forum. I never understood the need or value of it before, but I've learned a lot from these threads, including about myself. I don't have any other social outlet anything like this.

The Off Topic Forum was pretty much created due to a member creating havoc on here. I actually enjoyed his shenanigans (for lack of a better word). I hope he is doing well. Most members on here felt sorry for him at the beginning, but that soon passed. He had some personal issues. He was creative to say the least, his posts and guitar playing.

Utah, I do believe you would have enjoyed him. But, I don’t think you’ll ever reach his level. Those were the good old days, where a fight was a fight, and no meowing allowed. I think I’d better stop there.

If you're talking about Cuz'n John, I did engage in some of his threads before he got blocked. I wasn't offended by anything he posted, even the really off-color stuff. Too bad he's gone. He seemed like a really decent guy.

You are way, way off base. You have no idea who he was. He was an original cast member. He was from California, and I’m not sure how many members now were actually on here during his reign.

Let it go

QUOTE=kbwitt;1323773]So tired of having g to open a post to find out I am not at all interested in the topic.
Example. Has anyone seen? You open and it's star wars.
It's as bad as advertising something for sale with no price.[/QUOTE]

There is a song from the movie "Frozen" sung by Idina Menzel with the lyrics "Let it go, let it go" that instantly came to mind when I read this thread.

It all boils down to "you can't please all the people all the time". Not all posters are experienced but still want to say something regardless. Perhaps we all need to be more

tolerant of each other even if we are absolute in our minds they are wrong.

Take for instance, I was only wrong once in my life. That's when I thought I was wrong but it turned out I was actually right.
:D

No, you were probably wrong, Jack.:joke:

So you sound very cranky and things should be done to please you.
So take your terrible advise and push it on everyone because you know best. Thanks for sharing all your great wisdom

******** was before my time, (But I recall hearing the tales of his... unusual behavior!)

CuznJohn was nowhere near the problem of the other guy! nojoke
In fact: I never thought of him as being a problem at all.
