• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. I was excited about the 10 year Homecoming

I was wrong.
See post#46
This was a misunderstanding on my part.

You might have wondered why I was excited about the BRP homecoming

It was because I thought the folks running it were honest and above board.
When I was contacted by a high ranking BRP executive and asked to continue with my Guide App I was ecstatic.

Finally some recognition for the work that I had done for them.
But, I was wrong.

The BRP management decided to manipulate me and (as has been the way all along) they decided they would get some free work from me and create an app for the upcoming anniversary.

That simply isn't going to happen now.
Both apps (the iOS and the android) have become unpublished.

Why?
Because BRP is not an honest company.
Those who claim to act in their behalf are devious and dishonest.
Maybe later I will name names, but suffice to say now I have discovered they are no honest brokers.

So will I be at the 10 year Anniversary?
You bet I will.
To confront those who have lied to us and to present my case.

OMG

Sooooooooooooooooooooo you are no longer promoting the Kool-Aid :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:................Mike

I feel completely sick about this.
So what I have learned is this.
BRP and their executives are not honest.

The upcoming Homecoming is simply a corporate ploy.
I have been snared by the dishonesty but you need not be.

Simply say no to corporate manipulation.

Normally I would be completely against this type of behaviour.
However, I believe we have been deceived.
Big Time.

Sorry, if this sounds bitter.
That's because it is.
The 10 year Homecoming is not what it seems.

It is a sham.
I will be attending to confront those who have lied.
There is no other word for it.

Sorry I am not up to date with what your talking about or what exactly that you have been developing and that BRP is trying to steal from you? But anytime someone has the guts to speak out and not afraid to stick it to the man (or corporation) I am all for It !!!!!!

 Roger,
If you that they did this: I believe you...
I'm sorry that they lied to you; only I'm not sure if going up there to confront them will make you feel any better about all of this... :banghead:

Can WE do anything to help you get their attention?

well, I will present proof in the form of emails.
Right now, thank You for your support and if the past is any judge of the present please know that we have been deceived by a company that I once felt was honorable.

Now,I don't.
The circumstances will become apparent.

Roger it would be helpful if you could be more specific. What exactly happened? What do you perceive the homecoming is really about? I might decide to cancel my reservations if I know the real motives.

10 year homecoming

Roger,

You are normally clear about what you are saying, and I enjoy your turn of phrase.

You are being obtuse and hinting at something that others are not privy to.

Perhaps you'd feel better to just get it off your chest. I for one have no idea what you are alluding to.

I imagine that the homecoming is all about selling more Spyders and nothing more. I know we would all like to think that they want to thank us for being loyal customers and treat us to a good time but they really want us to buy more Spyders. Sorry they are being jerks to you Roger that sucks.

Here's what I have to say now.
A highly placed executive from BRP asked me to create a Guide App for the upcoming event.
He even contributed to the app's content.

I then found that there was another app that BRP had commissioned that essentially did what mine did and BRP had paid for it.
Mine was done for free.
As a service to all of you.

When I tried to contact the BRP executive, I was given the stone wall,
No answers, no excuses.

I spent a considerable amount of time as I did with SpyderCodes..

I chose to spend the time and energy.
And they chose to first ask me then do something else.
So yes, if this sounds a bit pissy, I suppose it is.
All along with the Guide App and SpyderCodes they (BRP et al) has at once given me info and at the same time put the Spyder program out for bid.
If they would have had the guts to say to me I was wasting my time, then I would respect that.

But, no they decided to play me on this and the Guide App.
So do I think you should be upset by this?
Realistically - No.

Actually I can't fathom a reason why anyone else would care except me.
Am I?
yes.

So make an app that's better than the one BRP is paying for. I'm sure we'd all rather use yours anyway. I wouldn't even be upset if you included some ads so you could make a couple of dollars.

I dunno SpyderCodes, I think you have every right to feel more than just a little pissy!! If the management of this BRP event have felt it's OK to play you on this, ie someone who is a well know & respected supporter of Spyders & BRP in the broader Spyder Community, who has donated thousands of hours supporting their products expecting zip but a little respect in return, surely we all hafta ask ourselves what are they doing to the punters who do nothing but pay out their hard earned on BRP products & services??

How far down the BRP sales line does that acceptance of 'playing the punter' go - and for that matter, how far up the management line does it go?? Maybe you need to send a 'letter of concern' to the CEO & see what sort of response you get?? :sour:

I wish it were about money.
Believe me it isn't.
In fact I am not contractually allowed to be in the software business.

What it is about is the lack of respect for those who actually feel they want to contribute to the Spyder effort.
Something I won't be accused of any time soon.

Roger, you have done nothing but help the Spyder community with Spyder Codes. I have used it myself on several occasions, and it has been a godsend. To have BRP try and rip you off this way is absolutely shameful, but typical of this company. It's what they do to all of us post-buyers. After they have our money, they don't really want to hear from us ever again. I can only hope that this thread doesn't get yanked before the greater community has a chance to read it. From me personally, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to the cause. And oh, by the way I know of two old VW's locally that have been sitting in a driveway for years, if you're interested.

if nothing else

if nothing else, your app is on my phone... BRP's is NOT.....
stand tall Roger, you have many friends out in SL world...
