• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I want to try a sticker on glossy RT paint, but worried about long-term affects...

Like the title says, I have an idea on a new theme for my 2019 Spyder RTL with the dark green glossy metallic paint job.

I was going to have Spyderpop's daughter Dawn paint it on last weekend, but I decided I want to try the idea out for a while first before doing something that permanent.

I've ordered a vinyl sticker of the design I'm after. The description says "on transparent background with adhesive" and says it can be used on glass, cars, etc.

However, when it comes time to take it off, I'm pretty sure that I can get it off with some WD-40, but I'm also worried about any permanent damage to the paint.

I am pretty sure that if I leave it on long enough, there will be some sun fade on the surrounding paint that won't be under the sticker. What else?

Have any of you removed stickers from a bike that have been on a good while? What else should I be concerned about?

Is there a better way to do this?

Take stickers off with a heat gun. You may or may not end up with some glue residue. But that comes off pretty easily. You should be safe.

I had scratch protector vinyl on my Victory. It was on there a long time like 5yr. Bike was black the protector was clear 3m. There was some discolor between covered and not areas.
