• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need your thoughts on the trunk liner.

I am thinking of getting the trunk liner. If you own one do you feel it was a good purchase? Is it something you now own and couldn't do without? Or is it kind of a waste of money? Does it fit well and stay in place? Any help would be appreciated.

front trunk

I bought 1 on ebay:clap:and I like it, JUST MAKES THE BIKE LOOK A LITTLE NICER, and it started the MOD CRAZE, with is still going on.:2thumbs:

Like many others, it's a personal choice. We like it for the pockets to put things in - helps organize, keep the small things up off the bottom. Fit is good.

I had it installed when I bought the bike, I don't even know what the trunk looks like without it. It is quite handy, it has pockets to put things in, like a few tools and my registration/insurance info. I like it.

It's on my list of mods, but not really necessary, imho. I'm glad I upgraded my windshield and seat first. Next on my list is better lighting overall and hiway pegs.
THEN maybe a trunk liner:doorag:

I got mine for free as compensation for being sold a test ride instead of a new bike, but I would have bought one anyway. I like the finished look and the three pockets give me someplace to keep my garage door opener, registration, and proof of insurance.

It's also easier to keep the inside clean. When I need to, I can just pull it out, turn it upside down, and shake it. Without it, I'd probably have to pull out the shopvac.

I purchased mine because I think it has a "finished" look. I would recommend that BRP make this part of the :spyder2: (RS) in the future and not an option. It shows a higher level to "quality".

Would you buy a car with no trunk liner (showing the insides of the fender)? Most car makers even do this on their economy models!

My $0.02.

I like mine. I bought it because I got it for like 40% off retail. I could live without it, but I do think it's really nice and finishes it up a bit. And I love being organized. :)

Don't have it and it doesn't interest me. Use small storage bags and Ziplock to store items and organize my storage space.

I got a good deal on one . . . .

. . . and it helped out another Spyder owner who was selling it. I would not have bought it on my own. But, I am happy with it.

pluses:
no helmet scuffs.
no things rattling around on the plastic.
looks fine to me.
does not noticeably reduce the interior of the trunk
pockets are nice. ( needs more, which I am adding )
I think it deadens some sound.
very easy to install & clean
seems well made

not so 'plusey':
how it handles the Owners Manual.
how it handles the Tool Kit
(both are very awkward and difficult. On mine, it is a pain to get the manual or the tool kit in and out)

I am going to change how the manual and tool kit are stored, but outside of that it is fine. I am more satisfied with it than I expected to be. If I lost this one, I would probably make a replacement for it, but I could live without it.

Fits good, pockets good, looks good---Is it worth the cost? Probably not, but I bought one.:D

mine came with the bike but it does fit well and i like the idea of things not bouncing around on hard plastic inside. It would not be one of my first upgrades however..

I got mine with a Gift Certificate that I won out in Hollywood. I really like it, it fits well and keeps things more organized. I had thought about purchasing one prior to that but kept it very low on my priority list due to the cost vs. my need and desire. I do like it but still not sure if I would have bought one for myself.

Simply put...get it...you won't regret it...very good fit...nice look, and it is practical as others have alluded to...

I leave my helmet in the trunk sometimes....good to have a nice felt feel in there...

Pockets are great for whatever you need...

i'll be honest I don't know how much the liners are. Whoever had my spyder first bought it along with that annoying hindle exhaust (personal opinion of course). But I really like the liner, I had it out for a bit & didn't like how things bounced around in the trunk. And although I could organize stuff in organizer bags like some of the others, I like the security of being able to zip away important papers etc, without having to worry about if the organizer bags may have stuck to a backpack or purse that I usually carry with me.
