• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I need a GOOD replacement part! 2012 RT Rear Calliper Part #705600921 - anyone got a line on one?

I truly know the meaning of nice guys finish last! I have been helping a friend for a couple years keep his 2012 RTL on the road by servicing it for him. He's getting along in age and loves his Spyder and has told me several times that if it was not for me, he would not be riding any longer! Well to make a long story short, it seems that I have mucked up his rear calliper putting a set of pads in this year and I need a replacement, part number 705600921. I have jumped down the eBay rabbit hole and got a part that's no better than the one I mucked up! I know this website reaches out all over the world and has some great people! By any chance at all can anyone find me a new caliper out there or a GOOD replacement part. Thank you for your time! I am about to call BRP to see if I can get them to do a search, he, he, wish me luck! 🙏 By chance if one of you have a line on one PM me!

That happens to be the parts house that I got off the phone yesterday, they told me it may be a long while before I MAY get that part! They gave me a BRP direct number to call. Thank you for trying!!

They are both dragging on the rotor when you adjust them and put them in service, they will heat up and lock up until they cool off! If you have a older bike before Brembo, do not push the piston back in the way the book tells you to, and don't use the e-brake post as a place to apply the clamp! Ask me how I know!

I am hoping that someone on this site from another side of the world will check their parts houses and see's one sitting on the shelf with dust on it!

I sincerely doubt there's ANY stock of those or anything much else on the shelves in this part of the World now, Mikey!!

BRP pretty much always worked on a 'Waaaayyy too late' basis for parts supplies for just about everything, and it didn't matter if it was thru a Dealer, parts houses, or aftermarket suppliers, there never was any real 'shelf stock' even when those models were a currently serviced model, and it seems the brake components especially were invariably an 'order in specifically' type item, so I really can't see anyone here in Oz finding an unused one on their shelves now. 😣 At a wrecker, maybe, but I truly doubt there's any dusty shelf stock type unused items hanging around. Sorry.

Yes, Peter unfortunately I think you're right, Fox motorsports gave me the direct line to BRP, and they in a nutshell told me too bad, start calling around dealerships and see if I can find one, because there was nothing they could tell me or help me try to find from their end! So, I guess I have to go down the used parts rabbit hole and hope that the next one is in better shape than the last one got from eBay!

You retract the piston using the parking brake shaft. Just turn it counter clock wise with the pulley removed. Do not try to compress with a clamp, you will just destroy the threads inside.

Thank you for the suggestion, I have done all of that many times and the same result happens! There is something inside of the caliper that is restricting the flow, making the brakes drag to the point where the fluid is getting hot enough to lock the brakes till the fluid cools down! That's the best way I can explain it! Rest assured, I will when this is all over, take the caliper apart and see what that something is. Thank you again for the help.

Part number 705600921 is no longer available from BRP. There are 2 in good condition listed on ebay. If you get a defective one from ebay they will force a return with shipping on the sellers dime.

Not always! Going through it right now! I have had words with BRP and I'm hopefully on the road to getting this issue fixed, time will tell!
