My bike is in for major service. Long story shortened is that it needs the clutch replaced but the great dealer that is servicing it, Longview Procaliber in WA, has persuaded BRP to pick up the costs. The bad problem is that they contacted me yesterday that they didn't want me to be without the bike for the holiday weekend sooooo they are giving me a 2013 RTS to use until mine is back on the road! What great service! My problem is ................ will I want a new one after riding it for several days???? HMMMMM.......

Ride a 13' in comparison to the 11' and all I have to say is

My bike is a 2011 with 19,000 miles. Two up quite a bit and just finished a 7,100 mile spyderfest journey two-up pulling a loaded trailer. I really did not know there was a problem. What happens on my bike -- has done it the entire time so I just figured it was "the nature of the beast". the problem is that when it downshifts (especially in trailer mode) the clutch was never disengaging thus causing a very scary forward surge! If I was riding one up, no trailer & spirited, if I downshifted to keep revs up in corners, the surge would at time almost push me off the corner! It often activated ABS when downshifting while braking. My warranty expired on 5/11/13 so BRP said tough luck for me but Shawn at ProCaliber Longview argued in my favor because I talked with him about this issue on 4/23/13 ay Spyderfest. They agreed to cover the replacement. Whew!

Thanks for the response. Now I remember your previous post, highlighting the long time clutch problem.

Nothing but praise for a dealer that would be proactive enough to set someone up with a loaner. BMW dealers are about the only ones I know of that do that for solid customers. :thumbup:

Loners are great, There's a slight possibility that if my dealer had loners i just might have kept my Spyder...
I would have been happy to ride around in their loner for the 45+ days it took to fix the last time my Spyder broke down, And another plus with a loner you don't have to call the dealer and ask when will i have my Spyder back every few days.... Believe me they ''Want'' their loner back they'll call you. Been there had that done with dealers loners [cars]

You dealer is getting ready to set the hook, you are in trouble. The dealer where I bought mine told me I should take a 13 for a ride.... I declined.:thumbup:

The new found enjoyment of the bike is overwhelming! Since my bike has done it the entiire time I have had it (two clutch pacs) I am fearful that the clutch / shifting problems may not be the clutch itself but maybe some electrical controller of some kind.
