I got the swaybar late afternoon on Monday and installed Tuesday morning. Very straightforward and easy to install. It took around half an hour to get off the 4 panels, remove the trunk and install the bar. While the Spyder was pulled apart I decided to upgrade the horn to the Stebal airhorn with a relay - that install went smoothly also after I found a good spot to place the horn Now I sound like a train when I hit the horn - a squirrel ran in front of me yesterday and I hit the horn, the little bugger pooped in the road and ran like a mountain lion was chasing him! Looking forward to the next cell phone talking, coffee sipping, hamburger eating, makeup applying, texting or absent minded driver - this horn will get them back in touch with what is arouind them quick :clap:
I took the Spyder "around the block" after the install. I live in the foothills of the Sierra mountains - so around the block is 45 miles of twisty mountain roads.
I noticed the difference in handling immediately - the swaybar is 30% stiffer than stock but, it feels like it reduces bodyroll by around 60%. The spyder bites harder in the turns and requires less body english to keep the bike on track and flat - I can now swerve back and forth in a single lane - with the stock bar all I would get is body roll. It feels tighter in the turns with no change in suspension comfort. I will let you know how it does when I go on a longer challenging ride - I think the new swaybar will reduce rider fatigue on a long twisty ride.
