I installed Evoluzione's swaybar

I got the swaybar late afternoon on Monday and installed Tuesday morning. Very straightforward and easy to install. It took around half an hour to get off the 4 panels, remove the trunk and install the bar. While the Spyder was pulled apart I decided to upgrade the horn to the Stebal airhorn with a relay - that install went smoothly also after I found a good spot to place the horn Now I sound like a train when I hit the horn - a squirrel ran in front of me yesterday and I hit the horn, the little bugger pooped in the road and ran like a mountain lion was chasing him! Looking forward to the next cell phone talking, coffee sipping, hamburger eating, makeup applying, texting or absent minded driver - this horn will get them back in touch with what is arouind them quick :clap:

I took the Spyder "around the block" after the install. I live in the foothills of the Sierra mountains - so around the block is 45 miles of twisty mountain roads.

I noticed the difference in handling immediately - the swaybar is 30% stiffer than stock but, it feels like it reduces bodyroll by around 60%. The spyder bites harder in the turns and requires less body english to keep the bike on track and flat - I can now swerve back and forth in a single lane - with the stock bar all I would get is body roll. It feels tighter in the turns with no change in suspension comfort. I will let you know how it does when I go on a longer challenging ride - I think the new swaybar will reduce rider fatigue on a long twisty ride. :ohyea:

Everyone pretty much agrees on this one. I personally think it's on eof the "must-do" mods for safety and handling.:agree::agree::agree:

The sway-bar was the last of the mod's I did it should have been the first. I love the new feel and always tell people who are thinking about getting a Spyder that this is the first change they should make.:agree:

I wouldn't consider the swaybar a "must do" but it did improve the feel of the ride / handling for me a bit. I'm more of a cruiser, not a performance rider so my opinion is bound to be different from those who like to ride more aggressive.

I just received my sway bar, but with no instructions and there are no instructions posted on Evoluzione's website. Can someone please post? Thanks.

Same here. I am more of the performance rider than the touring as BJT, and love the way it handles. It does take a little bit to get used to, didn't think it really made a difference until I hit the twistie in the mountains. I may not be able to pass a super sport but they know I am right behind them all the way through.

Call Ken

I asked Ken if he would e-mail me instructions before I bought sway bar.....he did so I was up to easy install after I ordered and received the bar.Took me about 2 hours for total turnkey job as I snooped around after I had the trunk and panels off.No surprises except I needed a jointed ratchet for a couple bolts. The bar does what it is suppose to!!

When I got the bar there were no instructions in the envelope/box. I called Ken and w/in 15 minutes he E mailed them to me. The instructions are just telling how to get the trunk off - once you have it off, it is very obvious what needs to be done.
I rode some more yesterday and the front end stays so much flatter in the sharp turns allowing the front tires to bite better, more sportscar like - did I mention I liked it? :spyder:
I recently installed the NMN risers as well. The combination of the 4" risers and the Swaybar has helped make my favorite toy a much better handling machine
:2thumbs:

Now I've heard that even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while but now we have a deaf squirrel running around on a rampage! I sure that PETA will want to have a talk with you!:joke:

Thanks to all for the information. It was a snap to install, and the short test ride that I took has made a substantial difference in cornering. The real test comes next week as I attack the twisties in Colorado.

Ordered the sway bar today. Along with what I ordered from NMN/ESI. I'm glad I got some overtime last month. All these mods just keep racking up....Don't you just luv it!!!

It's all about making a great toy....even greater! :2thumbs:
Know what you mean. Just got the ISCI footpegs today and installed them. ISCI also made me a special spacer for my Bruce Exhaust at N/C. Great people. They look terrific. Still trying to make up my mind on the sway bar, but did increase my tire pressure as several people recommended on this forum to 20 and 30 #'s. Rides a little rougher, but corners much better.

does the front tires stay on the ground better on sharp turns with this sway bar? I tend to take turns a little fast and noticed the front tires sometimes comes off the ground with the factory sway bar.

Interesting...I take turns plenty fast...same with highway ramps...haven't seen the tire come up one time...

Where are you leaning when you're turning? I find if I hug tight, it's near impossible to get the tire off the ground...plus, I push down on the pegs with sharp turns...this also keeps you on the ground...

I am not a real hard charger on turns so I have never had a front tire come up on me. There are also not a lot of twisties in Kansas, but plenty of right angle turns. I find that the bike just reacts faster and with a lot less sway. I also lean and position myself for turns. I would say that you could still pull a wheel up it just would take more to do it. I did not notice a rougher ride, in fact since the front end is planted better it lets the shocks do a better job. I am still thinking about aftermarket shocks for a smother ride and longer life that I think the stock shocks will give. PS I don't think I drive that hard or fast but I have had people tell me I do. :D
