• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I don't get crowds

I see all the posts regarding Bike week, Durango, etc - all with hundreds or thousands of people… When I ride, I want to go places where people aren't. I know lots of paved roads you can ride on all day and perhaps see one car (probably a pickup tho). I don't even like riding through the city….. but I can be on back roads in under 5 minutes, and stay outside congestion all day. Sun, roads, smells, purring bike, and tunes - the way is should be…. :)

I get what you are saying and I usually like to ride in small group usually one or two friends out in the country, but its nice to go to the events too just to meet fellow riders and swap stories, though I avoid events like sturgis, would love to ride the area around there, but don't have a desire for that type of crowd a little too wild for me.:yikes: :spyder2:

I tend to ride more by myself than I ever do in groups...
But I do enjoy spending time with like-minded folks talking about our lifestyle...

Our Spyder events are on a much smaller scale than Bike Week or Sturgis. I've attended most all of the Spyder events since I started riding in June of 2010 and I have made fantastic friends from all over North America that I met at these events. These are people who I may never have crossed paths with if I hadn't attended the events but whose friendship have made my life better.

I agree completely. I don't like riding with groups and avoid cities like the plague. I plan all my long trip on country roads even if it means going 100 miles out of the way, usually doesn't though.

Spyderfest is THE best :firstplace: being able to meet everyone in one place is great, but I didnt do their " scheduled" rides cause I don't like following 40 spyders through twisties at half speed. I'd rather ride with 2 or 3 others and hammer the ride. dont get me wrong, i also like a nice calming ride. But using the brake more than the throttle is not my cup of tea.
