• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I did it!! New Spyder 2014 RT-LTD owner!

I've been reading and learning a lot for the last few weeks here. Great info and ideas. Been wanting to get a Spyder for a few years and decided it was time to do it. Before all the reading I’ve done here, I was going to purchase a 2013 because of the great deals the dealers were offering on them. But after learning of all the problems the 2013 were having, decided to go with the 2014 instead.
On my first visit to the dealer, all he would do was to knock $ 1000 off the MSRP. Didn’t sound good. I had never taken a ride on a Spyder so I decided to rent one for a day and make sure it was what I wanted and something that the boss (wife) would also enjoy. After about 300 miles it I was certain that I wanted one and it also put a smile on the boss’s face.
So back to the dealer. Walked in and told him I would write him a check for $ 27,000 today ($ 3500 off MSRP) for the silver limited he had. He got that puzzled look on his face, then looked at the other guy standing there and off they went into his office. After about 5 minutes or so,came out and said he could do that. So I wrote him a check and we filled out the paper work. It will be ready for me to pick up on Friday.
I’m sure I will have hundreds of questions for everyone here so please help me. What I plan to do is get set up to load this in the back of my Ford F 250 that I tow behind my motorhome. I have it setup now for the 2012 Can Am Commander 1000XT that I have. Looks like with the loader from Rampage Lifts can do this. Any other ideas or suggestion I welcome.
Thanks for all that I have learned already….Great site with what looks like a lot of great people here.

CONGRATS

:welcome:And :congrats:on purchasing one of the best :ani29: made.
 To you and your bosses new adventures.

Thanks

Thanks for the welcome! I'm pretty sure I will enjoy this. The one I rented was a 2012 RT. I thought that one was a blast so I can't wait to get on my 2014.

Now I get to start all over and buy and fix up my new toy with all the extra after market parts. Of course the wife wasn't too excited about that. Just like my motorhome, 40' Diesel pusher Allegro Bus, I had to work on that for a good while till I got it just like I wanted. Then it was the Can Am Commander 1000XT that I spent a bunch of time and money on till I got it like I wanted, so it was time to find a new project to work on!!!! And I see there are just as many options to improve the performance and looks just like my other toys.

Looking forward to getting to know ya'll and learn as much as I can.

Welcome and congratulations. Be careful what you use on the matte silver finish I understand there are some products you should avoid.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to the roadster world and this site. Congrats on the choice of vehilcle and the deal you got. Pic's when you get it and questions when you have them..enjoy be safe..!! :2thumbs::clap::clap:

Welcome to the family, you'll find that the hardest part of ryding a Spyder is wiping the grin off your face.
A question; is the Rampage lift you're looking at the one that loads the Spyder backwards? If so, be prepared to remove the windshield when you load it, the wind can take it off if you don't.

The 2014 RT is an AWESOME machine ! We have had ZERO issues with 10,000 miles on it now. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

A nice improvement in ride quality  (lower rpm's, quieter, smoother, etc.) compared to our 2012 RT Limited in which we also liked and had no issues as well.

Enjoy! :ohyea::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea::ohyea:
