• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I bit the Bullet, bought a new Spyder - but is this a Shock cover??

Wednesday, I flew to Chicago, cabbed to Elmhurst and purchased my second Spyder from iMotorsports. The first is a 2015 RT-S. I am in Day 2 on the way back to Massachusetts with my new 2023 RT-L.

The shocks came wrapped in some kind of cloth wrapped around to form a tube and has red stitching to complete the tube. It almost looks like these were slid on the shocks (front) before they were attached to the frame.

Were these intended to remain on or were they supposed to be removed during set up process ?

Did you see this while in the Shop?
I would ask the person who sold you the Spyder.
They should be able to get you an answer.

Just saying that sometimes we don't see what we see.
I remember my first time checking out my Spyder.
I wasn't aware of all the 'Bells and Whistles'.

Definitely call the Dealer and ask.

I wish you the best on your Spyder.
Ryde Safe and Enjoy your Time. ....

Over the years I've seen lots of DIRT Bikes that had SHOCK covers from the factory ..... and lots of after-market ......Mike

Pictures to come!

I am on the road for the next week as I drive the 2023 from Chicago to Uxbridge MA the long way

Will take some pics up tonight

:congrats: on your purchase of another :spyder: I personally have purchased two F3L's from iMoto. I have nothing but good to say about the whole process that I experienced over two separate purchases from them. I was able to negotiate a good price friendly to both myself and their bottom line. My trades were picked up, and the new machines were prepped properly and with a full tank of gas. I never had any issues with them or the process of the purchase.

They certainly look like 'crate & transit covers' that probably should've come off when they did the assembly & pre-delivery on the Spyder... :dontknow:

Rip them off, protective sleeve for transport!!:roflblack: That's like leaving a price tag on your pants! Sorry!!

:agree:...Definitely shipping material for the trash can.
So remove them and let the good 'Smile Miles' roll.

Stay Safe on your Ryde Home. ....

That's why people pay big $'s for prep work prior to receiving a new vehicle. Again, great quality control!!!!!

Isn't that the truth....

Aside from looking like you have left the "price tag" on the Spyder, they serve no function once you're riding. I would argue that they might negatively impact moisture evaporation and promote corrosion long term.

Congratulations on the ride.

Don't knock it. Minnie Pearl made a living off of wearing a hat with a tag hanging off of it. It was her signature trademark.
