• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I am so impressed with this "Family"

The SpyderLovers "family" that exists here is very special. There is proof positive in the posts to Lamont and his family. It doesn't matter if everyone believes the same or not, everyone is there with their support.

I notice this in other threads as well. Even when folks disagree on an issue, it doesn't get too nasty. Every so often someone will overstep or say something that may come across as a little mean but that is few and far between. The community here is absolutely awesome, we agree that it is okay to disagree and we can still enjoy each other. I am very proud to be a SpyderLover and part of what I see as something very special here.

I have been a member of other forums of various types and there always seems to be a lot of "flaming" and mean spirited statements. I hope that spirit never seeps into this forum.

I just want to say thank you to each and every one here. Have fun, ride safe and enjoy your spyders!!!

Gotta admit this is the calmest forum I've been on and I really like that fact. You're right there's a lot of fighting on other forums when people have a difference of opinion, round here it's all taken into consideration and I like that. Looking forward to finally get a chance to meet some members in person.

Nicely put, Deb! I gravitated toward this forum exclusively when the flames and poison esewhere became too much for me to take. I have certainly not been sorry. This is the nicest, closest, most considerate large group of people I have ever associated with, much less on the Internet. I, too, thank you all. We really have become more like a large family.

Very well said - Just like a family, we may have the occasional quibble, but we still be family! I would also like to add my thanks for a fantastic venue for us to meet and make friendships all because of this very odd and very addictive machine. Many thanks, go out to Lamont, for his time to create this forum, and to everyone here for keeping it nice.

I read a post recently about a newbie afraid to ride there spyder home and there were people offering to ride the bike to a safe place so the buyer wouldn’t have to jump straight into high speed traffic. Now that’s what I call class.

Thanks Deb for expressing what I have noticed too. I always look forward to reading the posts here. I like that we can say what we want in such a respectful way, even when we disagree. It's a good family to be a part of!:agree:

Me Neither  and you also feel free to keep cussing on me when the need arises :2thumbs: That is what family is for!
Go to bed its past your bedtime but first you and HDX come wipe off my Spyder it is frosty and dewey here tonight at work

Smylinacha,
You and Roaddog are wonderful assets to this family. You add that extra zing of flavor whenever things get dull...LOL Don't stop being just who you are!!

I have only been able to meet a couple of people on this forum due to work and other obligations; however I feel like I know all of you. It really is a family brought together by our common bond the :spyder:. But it is more than that we all seem to genuinely care and that sincerity it the reality if :spyder:Love. It is a pleasure to know all of my brothers and sisters on this forum :2thumbs::firstplace:

As if riding someone's brand new Spyder for them is such a burden...:doorag:

but I have a question about a term you used. It has been spoken by others on this list. What is "work"? Is it possible that it correlates to being directed by one's wife to tour your property on your other riding toy, the tractor, pulling the Bush Hog?

Carolyn thought it might be similar to the once or twice a week "chore" of climbing on Iktome to ride to one of the local buffets for a Senior Lunch!

I have to agree. This is a wonderful family, with a really nice common thread: the Can-Am Spyder. For me, personally, I must mention 'zzneonzz' (Tim). I met Tim just the day before I placed my order for my Spyder - July 2nd. He was at the very dealer having good conversation (or bugging the hell out of them :)) about when his Spyder would be arriving.
I remember that well. And, he was the guy that offered me his Spyder when it came time for me to take the 'riding portion' for my endorsement. Yeah! He rode about 20 miles out of his way one 'work' morning so I could get my motorcycle license. :)
Since then, we have ridden together, and enjoyed good company. He was a wonderful part of the 'Ride to Shiloh' last Sunday, as well. And, we are riding together this coming Sunday. Tim's a great guy! And, a proud Spyder owner.

And, it was great finally meeting Nate on the 'Ride To Shiloh' last Sunday. :)

You all sure said it. This forum has been great. It has brought us together from all over to include Australia, Slovenia and ArmyGurl in Iraq. I haven't even searched other sites after finding this one. Everyone is so nice and helpful and answers all questions no matter what. The coming together with heartfelt best wishes and prayers for Lamont and offers to help a "newbie" get her :spyder: home just really made me realize what great people you all are. Proud to be a member of the "family".
