• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

After going to Banff National Park in Canada we began the trek back to Illinois. We cut south from Medicine Hat, AB on Rt 41. We did not know about the construction today. As we entered in to Montana they were chip & rocking the road. A flagger directed us to follow the pilot truck & we followed. It was on the side the work was not being done. As we follow the pilot truck changed lanes and so did we. Big mistake, we were in fresh oil & chip. About 100 yards later I was sitting without a drive belt and my friends was shredded but still intact. We have had bot RT's towed/flatbed to Harve, Montana where we have a motel room. I have to figure out how to get two drive belts and then install them. Right now I am at a loss on how to get a drive belt here. I have changed tires on thes RT's but not sure I have enough tools for that here. Any suggestions might be helpful. Thanks.

That is exactly what I needed. I wasn't able to think clear enough to figure out how to get started! Thanks for the info. Roadside assistance say they will pay up to $200 to have towed. I have to check with BRP & All-State tomorrow morning.

We were just having a conversation today about avoiding chip seal at all costs. What year are the RTs? I know Fred Weiss had purchased one for our trip to Alaska last year for his 14RT. I can find out if he still has it. He is in Eastern Washington and may be able to ship it to you.

Send me a PM if you need more info on Fred.

I hope you are able to sort out your problem. I am curious. Did either Spyder have the missing belt guard?
Roger

Thanks!

Thanks for all the input. This has turned in to a good experience. Jay Pausen picked the Spyders & us up at noon. At 230 we got to the shop. One Spyder is done & the second one is close. Great guys & great service. We did not have the missing rock guards but will soon.

It's great to hear that the Spyderlovers group AND a dealer came to your aid. It is to be expected from this group. But nice to hear about the shop making a great effort too.

I've lost a belt on chip seal that was about a week old and I had the missing rock guard installed. Also had slowed down to about 30 mph in a 50 zone. I avoid chip seal now that has not been down for several weeks.

Rolling Now!!!

Got the Spyders on the road at 5:30pm. Got back to the hotel at 7:30pm. Spyders are fueled up, washed up, and ready for another day of riding tomorrow. Thanks for all the help!
