• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I’ve done it this time...key locked in frunk

Here's what you need to carry in a pocket where it won't ever get tossed in the frunk or you can stash it somewhere on the Spyder in a key holder. It's an Ilco X270 blank that any locksmith can cut to match your chipped key. Bevel the key as shown in the picture and it will allow you to unlock all the locks on the Spyder.

By bevel, you mean grind a bit thinner ?

My apology for not being more explicit when I posted the X270 blank picture. When I finally found the blank locally and had it cut to match a chipped key and inserted in the ignition it was immediately obvious it needed an angular bevel to fit all the way down into the ignition lock. Took just a few minutes to bevel it on a bench grinder.

Hahaha..... 23 replies and only 2 of them offering help on how to actually solve Chiefburg’s fairly urgent problem. We are a very helpful lot, but sometimes we do lose focus ;)

Luckily, one was good enough to pint me in the right direction. Only took a few minutes to get it open after I figured out what I was doing. Post #18 tells how I did it. Made me some spares as well so this won’t happen again (probably won’t happen again)....

When I first started driving, I locked the key inside the car nd had to break a wind wing. Being an impoverished high school kid and not wanting to pay for another wind wing, I began carrying a second key in my pants pocket. Pans pocket because I figured I was always going to leave the car with my pants on, but not a jacket.
I ALWAYS carry that second key in case I drop the first one down a sewer or...? I have also done this; attached very fine, coated cables to the frunk and seat latches. Now, I never use the key to open them.
