hydrualic hand brake

a ? for those who have the hand brakes from ISCI.
I have small hands... will the brakes be too difficult for me to use?
i watched a you tube video and it looks like a huge stretch for the fingers to reach the brake.
My arthritic knee seems to seize up and i am afraid that i wont be able to brake fast enough when i need to.

I have the ISCI handbrake and it is a longer than normal reach. You should try to find one to test. Luckily I have fairly long hands but it took some time to adjust to it. I looked at it long and hard but could not see an easy way to modify it that I felt would still operate correctly. That being said it is a great add-on. If you can work it you will like it. IMHO.

ISCI has a reconfigured lever now available. It has a fairly sharp angle built into it which makes part of the lever closer to the grip. I bought the unit at Spyderfest after seeing and trying the new lever. It's still a bit of a stretch, but manageable. I wish there was a way to reduce the effort required to apply the brake, though.

Your answer is right on. I asked them to contact me when they have a new lever, they sure didn't. I've "adjusted" a HD lever and it is better, but still not perfect like we'd expect. I use the hand lever all the time - mainly to keep my arthritic hand and elbow exercised and maybe even get stronger. It works ok in normal stops, emergency stops require the foot pedal. When my right hip goes ape, I stop ok with the hand brake - but as stated, the foot lever is needed for real emergencies. :yikes:

I should have handbrake levers running this weekend. Sorry no one has contacted you with an update. Give me a call in about a week and we should have inventory. It has been a tough summer for us to keep available inventory or at least since we got back from Spyderfest.
