• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Husband complaining!

I will soon turn over 5000 miles on my RT. I won't say I have mastered the machine but I'm very comfortable with it and have ridden it in all conditions. My husband complains that I tend to ride faster now than I did on my Harley. He claims I'm going at least 10 mph faster on smaller roads than I did before. I thought he was just dragging! His theory is that I feel more secure on the 3 wheels. I think it just takes a little more speed to get those little thrills from the ride! Has anyone else found themselves riding a little faster on the Spyder?

Funny you mention...

Odd... I am experiencing the exact opposite.

Used to ride well over 100 mph on 2 wheels.

On the Spyder I am having fun going only two digit speeds.

I tend to ride slower than I used to on 2 wheels. Could be that I am old now!!

I ride faster on the RT than I did on the GS. Rt is so much smoother I think.

Its best that the harley be behind you anyway...that way when parts are falling off they're not bouncing up and hitting you.

:joke:

I am with you Dawn, I tend to be a little quicker too. Just tell him that if he had one he would know how you feel and would want to run faster too.:ohyea:

SAME-O.....SAME-O

MY husband has said the exact same thing!!!! That I am leaving him in the dust from stop signs more than on my Harley, and the twisties and curves faster than on my Harley...I think their just jealous...;)

No doubt; you're riding with far more confidence now...
You could mention to him that he's more than welcome to lead a little bit if he can't keep up... :roflblack:

I've never riddin 2 wheels but, I'd like to think I go faster on my Spyder than I would on 2 wheels. :ohyea: :2thumbs:

With experience and confidence the rides do tend to get faster. I went through the same with akspyderlady this riding season. With 5000 miles of experience, she has no problem keeping up most of the time. She prefers to ride behind and does not like to lead yet.

I just purchased an 01 Sportster. Now I can't keep up with the wife on our RT..the damn Hardley
vibrates so much, I don't know which out of the 4 Spyders I see in front of me is the real one!

But those Sportsters come with the best-made mirrors on the Planet! :2thumbs: The way that they shake at speed; if they wern't so great, the glass would pop out of them in about one second! :roflblack:
(My brother has an '02 1200...)

Oh he does lead sometimes and then he complains that I'm about to run over him! :D We do trade bikes at times and he has allowed as how he might get a Spyder some day!
