There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hugely disappointed in BRP - Spyder five now Spyder three.

Arntu, you had me at Snizzle Gizzle.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see more stuff like you're talking about. I don't have any inside track anymore, but judging from some of the recent Facebook posts, like Shaq getting one, etc, I'd say we might see more celebrity endorsements and tricked out rides. I agree, that's a cool thing to spotlight.

It Still doesn't mean I'm happy about it................. :( You served us well Mickey, always know that.

Sad

:sour: this IS hard to understand. In business hard decisions must be made. We do not have to agree with them though.

I always thought it would be kind of neat to have the ambassadors rotate on a yearly basis so more of us could experience the "celebrity life"; however, it is a bummer to hear our Spyder Five is now the Spyder Three. We hope to see Mickey and Faran at upcoming Spyder events.

What a ride it's been!

I said this on Facebook and it's true here, too...Mickey always expresses what I want to say much better than I can put into words. The man will make it in Hollywood one day no doubt!

From the day I found out I'd won (April 15, 2011), I have been on a joy ride. Only this one has not had any lows, just adventure and thrills. It has brought me life-changing friendships and helped me become involved in the Bikers 4 Foster Kids charity I so love. My life is only better for this time. Spyderlovers has been a big part of this and I appreciate all the kind words shared.

BRP is in the business of making Spyder wildly successful and I cheer them on as they do so with new marketing efforts, sadly without Mickey and me. (Of course, I'll be sure not to change my cell phone number in case they ever need to call me!)

Love y'all!

Hey, everyone! Thank you so much for the nice words about the videos and writeups. It's sad, but true. The marketing is evolving without two of us. I was waiting to say something once some sort of official announcement was made, but it looks like the cat's out of the bag, so I'll say it here.

The time I spent as an ambassador was a dream come true, and I've said it many times, but the best part of the whole experience was the people I met, starting right here on this board. The very first people to welcome me into the Spyder family came from here, and within hours of the announcement of winning the contest, I had invitations in my inbox if I ever needed a place to stay. That experience was multiplied, event after event, and meeting so many fantastic people in person. When I won, I thought it would only be for six months. It went on a year longer than that, and I got to experience several bucket list kind of adventures because of it. So, even though I'm sad it's over, I have to say that it was a heck of a ride. There were many times, starting from the moment we met, where Faran and I would look at each other in disbelief that we had this opportunity. It was never lost on us for a moment how lucky we were.

I'll still be around, of course, as part of the Spyderlovers family and still making some videos from time to time. I'm not a hundred per cent sure if it's going to happen yet, but God willing, I'll be at Spyderfest. In the meantime, I'm out here in California chasing my other dream of one day showing up on a tv or movie screen near you.

Thank you guys so much for everything. This is a beautiful community of people. Here's to riding with you again in the future, happy trails!

Love y'all!

You have both served as eloquent ambassadors. Don't be strangers here. We are family, and we still love ya!

dissapointed to say the least!

nothing in life is guaranteed, but for brp to take away two ambassadors, and one especially that meant so much to our female spyderlovers is a big mistake IMHO!:banghead::banghead: I am sure that faran sold more bikes to lady spyderlovers than any other one person out there in spyderland. her confidence statements and assurance gave many ladies what they needed to finalize their decisions. we'll see what they have up their sleeves for replacements, or if they are just going to fly with three. BIG MISTAKE! mickey and faran we'll still be lookin for your posts on here! keep them coming!

Sad news..!!

I am really sorry to hear this news. Know not much can be done but voice an opinion. Best wishes to both Faran and Mickey...:firstplace:

IMHO A VERY POOR BUSINESS AND MARKETING DECISION !!!!!!

I am not being sexist here, But the Spyder is almost made for a female rider......not exclusively of course...but it instills confidence, and therefore helps to attract female riders.........THEREFORE who ever decided to can Faran should be ........................................................................................................................................:cus: I can't say anymore ....But I'm sure you can fill in the blanks...........Ride safe Faran.....Mike & Deanna :ohyea:

Hugely disappointed in BRP and their decision to cut out the only woman from their ambassadors program for the Spyder. Faran represented the woman's point of view on the Can Am Spyder, encouraged women to ride, answered questions men wouldn't understand, and gave a female perspective on the Spyder. ( I in no way am attacking the three men whose contracts got continued - that's wonderful :) )BRP has made a big mistake not continuing on with a woman being part of the Spyder Ambassadors program. many women are upset by this and feel as though BRP needed to more carefully consider including a woman in the representation of the brand. Just plain disappointed.
I agree. It seems disrespectful of we women who have been promoting this product, formally or informally. Join the 21st century BRP.

Faran and Mickey you did good and will be missed. Thanks for everything you've done for the Spyder community. Keep in touch.:clap::clap:

As a fairly new Spyder owner I haven't really had a chance to follow the stories of the Ambassadors but in reading all these posts, it seems to me that the consensus is that these two wonderful people are very much liked and admired. I also feel that it truly is a shame that they cut the one lady in the group. Bad choice to be sure as the ladies who are a BIG part of the Spyder community should always have a representative. Fact is they should have more than one and not have them eliminated all together.

With that being said, it occurred to me that in light of this, why not start a petition drive and have it sent to BRP so they can see first hand how wrong their decision was. I'm willing to bet that a major percentage of people would sign it. Look, the ladies are truly a driving force with this and a host of other things that go on in our lives. Major purchases of these Bikes and other things just don't happen without their blessings to us MARRIED GUYS at least not without a Hugh problem on your hands at home.

I really don't know how to start something like this but my wife (actual Spyder Owner) and I will be happy to sign onto it. Zorro will sign on too....lol.

THOUGHT'S?

Mickey and Faran, you are the definition of CLASS ACTs

only the best for both of you in the future:clap::clap::clap::bowdown:

I must say I was very disappointed too when I heard the news. I wouldn't want to have been the guy that had to make that call.
nojoke

When BRP had that contest and Micky and Faran won I had no idea what a great choice they made at the time. They struck gold when they made them part of the Spyder 5. This started as the "RT5" and there was no indication that is was going to carry over past the first year. The RT was a new product for BRP and they were looking for new ways to get the word out in a more personal way, thus the RT5 was born. When they decided to carry it on for the next year the Spyder 5 was born with the addition of the RS and pretty much new riders.

The first time I met Micky and Faran I was freaking out a little bit. Micky had rode bikes before but Faran was new to the whole riding as a driver and not a passenger so my first choice would not have been to take them out on the LA freeway and then to the Rock Store. This could have been a disaster but both Micky and Faran did better than I ever would have expected. When we got to the Rock Store I saw first hand how they interacted with other bikers and it was an amazing thing to watch. They both were in their element and I knew they were going to do just fine.

Later as I got to know them a little more they really earned my respect. Micky takes off cross country on a stock RS not knowing how to even check the oil and he was fearless. As he started to write about the trip and do videos I knew I was in trouble, he could write and video circles around me and I was looking to him for advice. That's the short version of what a great ambassador Micky is. If you've seen any of his videos you know this guy is a pro and I'm glad to be able to call him my friend.

Faran is one of the most amazing ladies I've ever met. Somehow she works full time and then some, raises two beautiful daughters and takes care of her husband, helps run a great biker charity and has time to write, take pics and videos and post blogs for the Spyder. Oh and she goes to Crossfit every morning before doing all that. I honestly don't know how she finds time to do it all and do a great job at it. She's done countless media interviews and always gets a plug in for the Spyder when she does. You couldn't have picked a better lady to market the Spyder, I honestly think BRP should hire her full time to do marketing. She has a way of making you feel at ease and sincerely cares about the people she meets. She's about as real as you can get.

It would have been much easier for me if they just dropped the whole program. I feel undeserved when compared to these guys and like I said before I wouldn't have wanted to be the one to make that call, there was no clear choice but for sure Faran would have stayed if I had a say just for what she offers to first time riders and the ladies. I do know that both these guys will still be doing what they do, just not in an official capacity. They will always be celebrity SpyderLovers to me. :doorag::bowdown::firstplace::firstplace:

Lamont everything you said about Mickey and Faran is right on, but to not have a woman is a grave error on their part. Many of us have tried to post on their Facebook page and our posts are now being blocked and not shown. I hope they are up for all the mail and email they will be receiving.

I also started a post on the Lady Riders forum.

This is a TERRIBLE public relations move....Sometimes it amazes me when I see companies make certain decisions...They need to get off the 20th floor and come down to ground level with the rest of us once in a while, just to see what is really happening....I don't know any of the FIVE,but I followed their articles, posts and adventures...Faran was a spokesperson and an example men could show their wives, relatives or girfriends that they too, could ride a SPYDER,even if they have never ridden before..Terrible move,BRP!!!!!!!!:mad:
