• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well... I needed a new phone, so I retired the blackberry for the latest Droid phone from HTC ....

I'll tell you.... After playing with this for part of the day, I really think I could leave the laptop at home on my next spyder trip (provided I don't need to work).

That would gain me some more room in my Givi's but also save me some weight.

I still think my Garmin makes for a much better, easier to see GPS, but the Droid would make for a nice back up NAV device.

If you haven't checked out a droid... I highly suggest it if you are struggling with ways to stay connected while touring. I was about to step down to one of my 12" laptops for the bike, or even get a netbook to save space.

This thing is awesome... Battery life isn't all that great, but I haven't put it down much since I activated it. :)

Hi Doc... That is for the Motorola....

There is an extended coming for the HTC... But it also comes with a new phone back... as the battery is too thick for the regular back cover.... That means I have to hope they come out with some new cases for those.

Stock battery is 1300 miliamp hours.... extended is to be 2150 Milliamp hours.

I am getting another powerlet cable and couple that with a mini- usb to micro usb adapter and then I can keep it powered while heading down the road.

I really love the functions and apps of my iphone--- too bad the service from at&t pretty much sucks. Can't wait for Verizon to support the iphone!

Dan - Verizon rep told me yesterday that the iPhone for Verizon will be thier first 4G phone.

I have something against giving money to apple... though HTC pays a $20 licensing fee to Apple for every droid phone they sell. Has to do with the screens and usage/gestures.

I have the Motorola version Droid and the problem I have with it is there is no voice command capability so if I want to call out will riding or driving you can't just press a button on you headset and say call....., you have to get the phone out like Bluetooth doesn't exist. You can still receive calls but there is no ring, the person calling's voice just appears. I use the Scala Cardio Q2 while riding and a Motorola ear bud while driving. If any one knows of an app for voice command please let me know.

Thanks

This is supposed to be corrected in the next software update. I have my fingers crossed
