How Would You Outfit an F3-T For Overnight Travel?

I've had my 2016 F3-T for almost a year now, but haven't used it yet for any overnight travel. So, I'm wondering what things I need to consider and what types of upgrades/farkles would be useful to outfit it for an overnight (or multiple night) trip?

FWIW, I don't ride two up at all. For one thing, I would think that a good cover would be useful. (Any recommendations?). And the frunk and saddle bags don't provide enough storage by themselves. So what would you recommend for increased storage/luggage? Anything else to consider?

Thanks!

The bigger question is what do you feel you have to carry? IMO, the less stuff the better; that excludes, of course, such items as foul weather gear. Yes, a half cover is convenient but your Spyder can survive very well without it.

We do a 4-6 day mountain trip each year. I tend to keep things like my laptop and tablets in the frunk (since I will not need it during travel). But I also keep my rainsuit on top of them, within easy reach so that I can get to them quickly. I have an expandable tank bag that I place on the rear seat with all my clothing. That makes it easy to take into the hotel. As for the saddle bags, I use them mostly for a small tool bag, travel cover, extra jackets, and sweet shirts in case I need to layer up.
Here I am on our BRP trip that we took last fall. BTW, I also love to have a cup holder and an Xgrip for my phone. Also keep a ziplock bag for the phone and extra garbage bags for whatever. Happy travels.

How many nights?

1 or 2, nothing.
More, you might consider a dry bag. Ortlieb or another brand. Frunk and saddlebags get rain gear, cold gear, gloves, tools, stuff that stays with the bike. Dry bag goes in hotel room like any other luggage. You never need more than 5 days of clothes: laundromat or hotel washing machine. Cup holder, cup, straps for the bag. Practice on small trips. Put what you use in a garbage bag and when done, see what you didn’t use. Cut that out the next time. Keep a note of what you needed but did not bring. Less is better! Remember, if you forgot it, and need it, go buy it! Enjoy the trips. We sure do!!

I carry

A half cover, first aid kit and tire repair kit in the frunk. On the back seat (I ride solo since my wife has a 2017 F3L) I have a Firstgear 40 ltr waterproof bag for shorter trips. If we are going for an extended period I have a 70 ltr Firstgear waterproof bag. I put Lamonsters bungee buttons on both bikes and use two flat bungee cords to hold the bag on the back seat. Works for us just fine.
