I contacted the seller, he said. you might try hitting the top end, (round flat which has the clip), hard on a table. Do this a few times to reseat the ball bearing.
I hit it fairly hard 5 times--no work--then I hit it 10 times really hard------- & now it works.:yes::yes::yes:
