• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

how much do you love

I have been riding motorcycles since 1975. My first motorcycle was a Kawasaki 750 2 stroke street bike. Wow that thing was insanely fast and has gone down as one of the most dangerous motorcycles of all time.

Anyway I have ridden motorcycles most of my life and Never Ever had a bad time cause I was on one. I just don't seem to be able to stop grinning when I am on a bike.

The spyder was intended to get me through a bad health time, and it did so. This cycle has grown on me like none other before. It used to be that I would immediately start changing colors adding high performance parts, expensive wheels and so on. The Spyder.... I just want it to last forever. I love it. I can't really put my finger on just what it is that I love so much, but I can't seem to stop riding it, I just grin ear to ear all the time. My teeth are just covered in bugs. (old joke, Happy motorcyclist)

Anyway. I am just wanting people to talk about why they love cycling and how long they have been riding, etc.

I never wear a helmet when I don't have to, and being on a cycle to me is like this.... If you look up freedom in the encyclopedia you would find a picture of a motorcycle. No cages. The excitement of the occational twist of the throttle, the peace in riding down a nice smooth country road with beautiful scenery all around you, and the luling sound of throaty pipes.

I'm rather a newbie as far as ryding is concerned, but I have to say... I LOVE my spyder. I find reasons to get out on it all the time. Craziness!!!!

I also wanted to add that I have a friend who IS a long time bike rider (like you) and he says the same thing you did as far as loving the spyder. Mixed reviews in the beginning...now loves to ryde it and grins at the thought of pulling it out of the garage.

Thanks for starting this post!!!!!!!!

May 26th was our 1st year of Ryde'n

Since then, Teddy & I haven't been able to stop Ryde'n. I use his :spyder2: as my daily driver:yes: been so long since I've driven the car, the battery is now dead. My face is in a constant state of pain due to all the :D'n, you'd think I was related to the Joker:clap: We put 13,700 miles on his 1st :ani29: and now we're on his 2nd :spyder2: and in a little over a month, we're right at 6000 miles:ohyea:

Yeah, there's love there, man:agree: I mean, I got my best buddy right behind me on this Amazing Machine. Wherever we go, we're the center of attention :firstplace: and just about anyone & everyone wants to talk to you about it:ohyea:

I've NEVER had so much fun doing 45 mph in my life:ohyea: I now get lost on purpose at least once a day, just to see what's to see & enjoy'n the Ryde all the way! I've never been able to say that about any of the other 26 vehicles I've owned throughout my life:clap:

Damn You guys are Hard core. I would love to meet you sometime. I once put 32,000 on a Super Glide in one year. Live to ride.... Ride to live

Oh, yeah! That's the spirit . . . . it is contagious and addictive. :ohyea: and I'm not looking for a cure!! :roflblack:

It was probably 1977 when I started riding. First was a 250 Kawasaki enduro, probably 1973+/- Then bought a touring bike.... well, for me, with limited funds, it was .. . . a 1977 Suzuki 500 GT. Spent a couple years on the road, lots and lots of miles on that padded 2x4 bench seat, having the time of my life! Then after too many close calls on the road, sold it and went strictly dirt with a 1978 Suzuki 185. After some life changes, had to sell my bike in 1980 . . . and for the next 20 some years, I could only dream about riding.

But, now things have changed and I'm back in the saddle again! Lovin' our Spyders!
Between the RS & RT, we've racked up about 26,000 miles in the past year.
Oh, yeah!!! Can't get enough!!!!! :2thumbs:

Sounds like a weekend road trip

We're only 255 miles away from ya:p sounds like it would make a nice weekend road trip to us

Riding motorcycles has been a part of my life since 1965.

I have owned over 20 during the years. Dont know how many total miles on regular two wheelers--but did a lot of riding from March to November in the lower 48.

Am on my third :spyder2:. Have accumulated over 37K in personal :spyder2: miles. 20K on the other spyder.

I also drive a Vulcan 900 LTD.

Ride most every day--rain or shine from March through October. IMO: Not safe to ride the rest of the year when there is snow and ice on the roads here in AK. There are too many "big" vehicles on the road during those conditions.

I thought I was a serious rider. You guys put me to shame... Still I hope I have more fun per mile to compensate.

Awesome

I purchased a rain suit (which I proceeded to use to lose my last saddlebag key long story) I have commited myself, (and I should probably BE commited) to using only my Spyder for transportation till the 1st snow for the rest of the summer, unless someone else is driving and I have to go with them.

Hey Challman: You will catch up.

There are a lot of "real" diehards out there that put me to shame when it comes to bikes and miles.

I can say that I have had fun, continue to have fun, and hope to have more fun in the future.

Motorcycling is one of the great pleasures we can partake of.

I've ridden that far for ice creamnojoke.
First ride was 1954, been at it pretty much ever since. The last two bikes had 97K and 93K when replaced. I've never had this much fun on any other bike.
