How many miles on 622 trailer tires??

After reading about murphybrown's experience with tires on her 622 trailer, on her fourth set in under 5000 miles, my question is how many miles are people getting on their trailer tires.

Looking at buying a Lava Bronze one for my wifes 2013 RTL.

I bought my 622 trailer back in 2011 and my wife bought hers in 2010. They went with our original Spyder RT's that we bought in 2010.

When we traded in our Spyders on 2012 models we simply painted the trailers to match the new machines.

Most of our travel is done with trailers attached so my guess is that between the two Spyders she has owned my wife has accumulated about 25,000 miles on her trailer.

Mine would be a bit higher than that but probably 28,000.

I just checked the trailers this afternoon to air up the tires and pull them over to the trailer dealer to have the bearings repacked and the tires look like they did when new. My guess is they will both get over 30,000 miles before I have to worry about replacement.

The problems that Murphybrown has encountered seem to be an exception to the rule at the moment.

There is something else going on there. IMO.

Question: What pressure do you normally run in your RT622 tires? There are varying opinions on this i.e. 35 or 65
Sounds like you are doing something right and I want to know what it is.

I got about 30,000 on my first set of trailer tires and I ran them at 35 psi. I put a new set on last year after I picked up a big nail and, with about 5,000 miles, they were showing wear on the outer edges. I have bumped the pressure up to 60 psi (per the tire info and on the advice of Kenda customer service) and have put another 5,000 or so miles on them and they look fine.

Murphybrown's trailer was repaired yesterday and it seems that the trailer tires were not aligned properly.

60 psi and ride- on it. Now have 41,000 on trl. First set lasted 31,000 and now new stile tires on 10,000 and love them much better. They rear motorcycle tires with 92r for 90 mph retied tires. Avon tires 12 for trl.

I am somewhere around 10,000 miles, running them at 35PSI and they look like they are still brand new!:yes::2thumbs:

We have always run them at 40 psi but I'm thinking of moving that up by about ten pounds based on recent comments on the site.

26k on mine probably good for 5000 more.
