• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long should I have to wait

I bought a used 08 Spyder that did not have any updates done. After reading about the problems with these it was a good thing. Now it seems most problems are sorted out so I went to my local dear and asked about getting these done. He said he would have to order parts because the second update required parts. This is true from what I have read on this site. That was 5 weeks ago. When I stopped by he said he was still waiting on the update kit. Should it take this long or is he giving me the run around since I did not purchase the Spyder from him. I did not purchase it from another dealer but an individual.

Unless the parts are backordered - no more than 1 week to obtain parts. Good luck. Call Carlos.

Doesn't matter where you purchased your Spyder-dealer should treat you well. I would recommend going to another dealer.

The dealer I contacted via email ordered parts and received same in 3 days and updated my Spyder the following day. No, I did not purchase Spyder from them and it was my first visit to dealer, and yes they will get my future business.

Sounds like a stretch to me....
:agree:The parts are just a Hose and some clamps :gaah:all my warranty work has been done at a dealer where I didn't purchase and get same treatment as if I bought it there when I ordered mine there were no CT dealers and had to bye mine in MA :ani29:

Many of the service and...

update parts are on back order according to my Lake City service center. I know this manager well and he has always given me valid information.

I know from my own personal experience the SE5 HCM filter is a problem to get and has been for several weeks now. Seems the manufacturers did not produce adequate supplies for some reason. I have been trying for 6 weeks now to get a 100 HCM filters for my kits. I was told last week they should be arriving the end of the month. The main oil filter is no problem to get.

I went to two suppliers I get inventory from and each only had two of them. So until last friday I had four. They were shipped out Saturday morning. I didn't even keep one for "her" spyder so I may be in trouble.

Did he do the First Update ??? If not WHY NOT???

I think the first update ( recall ) required parts also- Ground Wire Kit for an SE for sure .Don't know if the SM required one. :dontknow:

The dealer is in Indy. The first owners friend was the mechanic at the Can-Am dealership where he bought the Spyder. His friend told him that because of the issues with the recall he would not suggest doing it at this time. They did do a number of other things under warranty such as brakes and gear positioning sensor. The bike runs fine but I thought if everything is sorted out I would get the updates.
The other dealer in Greenfield is no longer a dealer but can still do any maintenance but no warranty issues.
I am going to call a couple of other dealerships that are within 2 or 3 hrs and see what I can find out.

All in all I love the Spyder, just concerned about not having a dealer I can trust close.

Thanks
Bill
