I am in the process of buying the RT-622 trailer for my RT and was wondering how long the overall combination is?

There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.
How long is the trailer and bike combination front to back?

That is something I have never thought about measuring. At one time I was concerned about parking lots and spaces being big enough to handle my spyder and trailer. As it turns out it is not a problem at all. I have been across country and on many trips with the trailer and it has never been an issue. The combination of the two is about the same as a full size car. it takes up the same space in my garage in length as my car. Here's some pics of the Spyder and trailer.

Thanks, that is what I wanted to find out. When you leave the trailer parked in stall such as at a hotel, what is the best way to secure it assuming there is nothing to chain it to near by?

You can run a locking chain or cable through one or both wheels. Lock the coupler in the locked position and also add a coupler lock that makes the ball recess area unavailable. Placing a cover over it also helps deter folks from messing with it.

You may find that you'll just forget about unhooking the trailer. It pulls so well that you will forget about it. Seriously!! The only time your aware is backing out of a parking space etc. Doesn't take long to figure that out, a good long trip or two will do it. My wife and I have found that the trailer is extreamly handy as a tag along when running to Sam's or Lowes, you'd be supprised how much it will swallow up. We have done shopping on the spyder with the trailer many times. People look at you funny when you push a big buggy up to the trailer and unload a bunch of stuff in it, it's like a magic trick or something. Also my Frunk and sides are usually loaded with plain ole stuff such as, coats, rain gear, tools, my wife's stuff (she claims the trunk as her own special place) so having the 622 along is just plain handy, we keep a small cooler in it for water and drinks, and few maintenance items.It is great to just pitch the helmets in while shopping or just on a regular stop. Don't mean to be long winded here but I have never gotten anywhere on a trip and even thought about taking the trailer loose at a motel or something. it just stays locked to the spyder.

I am glad to hear so many great reports about the trialer. There may be times when on vacation when having the extra length behind could be troublesome but I will likely pull it around most of the time as you suggest. Thanks again.

I like to park directly in front of my room at the motels so I'm more likely to hear it if someone starts messing with the Spyder. If I arrive and then want to leave for dinner or something, I'll leave the trailer behind to hold my parking place for me. I did have a lady go ahead and crowd into the parking place one time about 20 years ago. When I came back, I took her tag number to the front desk and asked them to have her move her car. She did move it, but was very unhappy about it. I told her that I was sorry to have her move it, but that the parking place was clearly already taken before she parked there. I couldn't even get my trailer out if she hadn't moved her car.... :dontknow:

Well I will be picking it up as soon as my hitch arrives so I will let you know if that 1/2" makes any difference, lol.... Thanks for the info
