• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How long can I ride in Limp Mode?

How about swapping a known good VCM from another bike before spending the cash on a new one?

Have you pulled up all of the active codes? (I didn't recall seeing that in here; but my eyes aresn't that great... :opps:)
It's probably not going to hurt anything by riding it; but it's also sure not helping either... What if you get jammed up in traffic and run over when the dreaded, "Orange Screen Of Death" pops up at an inopportune moment? :yikes:

According to my dealer, my VCM failed, too... but limp home mode only let me go a staggering 20 mph. That was actually a bit dangerous, considering I was on a 70 mph interstate. I also have a 09 model.

HUGE Thanks to BRP!!

Well after months of saving, I finally brought my Spyder to the dealer to get it fixed. And to my (very pleasant) surprise--BRP decided to comp the VCM!! I'm floored! Mine is an '09 and no longer under warranty. So for them to provide a VCM at no charge in the name of taking care of their customers--well I'm just elated! Beaucoup thanks to BRP and I can't wait to get back to riding and making videos!!

Happy New Year!!

Way to Go

Wow, so glad its on its way to being fixed and BRP pulled through like they did. Amazing when there are no threats or trash talking, BRP seems to always do the "right" thing.

Safe Ryding!!

Just wanted to let y'all know that I got my Spyder back yesterday. As it turns out, the VCM and Master Cylinder were both bad. BRP saved me HUGE with that VCM. So after 5 months of being limp mode, I have to say--I forgot how FAST these machines are! I about got whiplash!! Lol Oh how I have missed riding! It was 24 degrees this morning and I rode her in to work anyway. And it was AWESOME!

Thanks everyone for your good wishes!

Best,
Andy

It seems like we hear more and more good things about BRP and their listening and responsiveness. As others have implied- approaching the dealer and BRP with a legitimate reasonable request instead of ranting and raving and threatening is more likely to get the job done..
( i know I can hear a couple of you out there saying - whats up = did they replace bikerdoc with a clone) answer is no, just learning my lessons

:congrats: Andy,...........Thanks for posting the results of all this. Nice to hear your dealer and BRP came thru for you :2thumbs:

Glad to hear it's all fixed up. Thanks for posting your problem and resolution, it was an addition to my knowledge base. Sorry it was at your expense.

Happy Spydering!!!!
