• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

how long before a road racing series starts

It's got to be only a matter of time before BRP sponsors a road racing series for these machines. It would be great to be able to get F1 style nose cones with wings from the can am performance group.

I believe Doc and some others unofficially have had several road races.

Having been told of a couple of cross desert runs with throttles wide open for miles... Well, you get the idea.

I don't think the Spyder is really a safe track bike... In a controlled "paid for" track time environment... yes. In a 20 to 30 Spyder racing field... hell no. I'd hate to see a multiple spyder pile up on a track, that would hurt...Big difference between a crotch rocket low side and what can happen on a spyder.

I've gone into turn one at 90 mph with 25 400 pound shifter karts woo hoo

If you can't die doing it it ain't really a sport

I asked BRP officials about a "SRL" ( Spyder Racing League ) @ Homecoming in '08 , the only response i got was a "dumb-founded look " and "lets see what you can put together and we'll talk" ... BRP is currently sponsoring the GNCC (offroad) and other events i'm sure (Seadoos & Snowmobiles) ...

I think if we could get a sactioning body such as the AMA or CCS(Championship Cup Series) or ASRA (American Sportbike Racing Assoc.) to allow us to give a demonstration of what the Spyder could do on a road course , We might have an opportunity to start up a series !! So many factors are involved its not funny ,,, getting the Spyder thru safety tech inspections ( could be easy ; if all spyders are "stock" minus the usual... exhaust , tires , suspension changes )( like Legend Cars), getting all ryders through a "race instruction school" that will issue the mandantory "racing licence" to be on the track , and many thousands of dollars later......we might have a chance

I think it will take other manufacturers producing some competition before we see anything like that, if ever at all.

I think it would be a cool idea, and you run the Spyder the way they are with minor mods only. It isn't motorcycle racing if there is no chance of crashing and getting hurt.
