• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How fast have you driven you Spyder and under what conditions?

Can't see the photo on the forum in your link, can someone post it here? Is it 183 MPH or KPM? Is it believable...he says he exceeded redline...does the Spyder have a rev limiter?

You may not believe this. Someone else did this: http://www.westcoastspyder.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=1569

Can't see the photo--- not sure I would believe it if I could--- 183 mph??

Seems to me he would have to pull the clutch in and be coasting to hit that speed going downhill as running wide open in 5th gear at redline under such conditions would most likely cause engine braking.

Someone needs to do the math here and see the max possible speed with the engine and drivetrain engaged. There is a physical maximum that cannot be exceeded no matter if you're going downhill or not.

The only way I could see hitting 183 is top things out on a downhill and then 'coast' up to 183.

:agree: The theoretical speed at 10,000 rpm is 145.675 mph. To go 183 you would have to exceed the rev limiter and twist 12,500 rpm, or you would have to pull the clutch in and coast.

Theoretical yes aerodynamically no,
At that speed it's like an out house on wheels. :yikes:

This video shows a top speed of 205 km = 127.3 mph

that or photoshop
It's not Photoshoped, did you read the post?
Like I said, this happens all the time with GPS. The fact is the Spyder will not do 183 mph, I don't care what your GPS says. Take it to the salt flats and see what they clock or just ask SethO.

Well I don't have time to watch my speed when following Doc, However, I have passed him a few times, with and without the trailer.. He must have seen something I didn't.. Vero...... I guess .:2thumbs::joke:

yes i did read the post...and i re- read it...still dont see where anything was said about it not being photoshopped...and if i did miss it...xcuse me

You didn't miss it, it didn't say it was or wasn't. You didn't ask if the 183 was photoshopped.

Just for the record do you think that was real, photoshopped or maybe a GPS error? :dontknow:

no i didnt ask if it was photoshopped or not, why would i? ...i was simply saying that it could be....and for the record, i think what u said was absolutely correct....i do gis for a living which includes gps's...so the gps losing the signal is most likely the cause....
