• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How fast have you been on your Spyder? 104mph (by my Zumo 450) is my fastest..

Lamonster - Where did you find a speed limit of 110 - thought you always followed the speed limit and that radar guns are just off. LOL :doorag:

Fastest I have been is 100 mph but know I could have done more.

Interesting...I thought it had a speed limiter on it...the speedometer says 200 mph, but I guess that is just for fun.

I know it can do 100 quite easily...with some to go before red lining...

As far as towing a trainer and getting well over 100, I'm impressed...

Not with the Spyder but still :doorag:

Speedo says 200 because it is an analog speedometer that is digitally driven. That means when you switch to metric units, it reads correctly on the exact same scale, no need for two sets of numbers. Equivalent to 200 kph is 124 mph. If you want to see the needle in the top of the scale, you will have to switch to metric units.

Scotty,

That's the logical and correct assessment...

I'd rather play dumb and think the bike goes to 200 mph, even though I'll never get there...

Darn metric...

I saw 115 with the wife on back and :spyder:was still pulling strong but traffic got in the way, still haven't found out what top end is yet.

My BMW--RT registers the same speed as my car and truck. Tested by me and the wife. Never really tried top end of the spyder, but with saddle bags top box and EVO III windshield had it to 103. I don't think it would do much than that though. Maybe a little faster without that stuff on it.

If this is the case, it makes sense why when I pass all the radar sites on base, it shows me going slower than the speedometer. I have gotten mine to about 120 mph (?) before I ran out of road. Speedo showed 125. Still can't believe how smooth it was at that speed. :2thumbs:

I need to move to the USA - LOL Our speed limits are max of 110km/hr. Most highways are only 100 (62mph) Damn, wouldn't it be nice to go 100 - 125 mph (160 - 200kph). that would be ILLEGAL. Then the Mounties start chasing us on thier horses

Scotty,

Is that really a picture of you in the avatar.

If so, isnt it great to grow old disgracefully, like us ???

:2thumbs:
Yes, that's me. So was the kid on the tricycle, and the fat old guy on it in the avatar before that. As long as the babies don't run down the street screaming when they see me, I figure I am holding my own. :D I earned every single one of those gray hairs.

They must have got a dud. I know for a fact it will do more than that towing a trailer. BRP must be getting a big kick out of this post. :2thumbs:
