• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How does the Hindle sound on an SE5?

Charles Darwin was partly right . . . .

. . . . . the fittest survive until they annoy the species with the guns.

Interesting that on one hand you're upset that your neighborhood had rules that won't allow you to have a motorcycle - yet on the other hand you have no arguments against future ordinances to get rid of loud trucks, cars, ATV's and MC's. :dontknow:
(No mystery. Like most people, I do not like being denied choices because others cannot exercise judgement and consideration. As to the current situation, the only people who do not have a angry and negative position on the loud [and these are loud by any standard and are driven around 24/7] are the vehicle owners. Requests, threats, tickets and more threats, have not worked. This will continue to escalate, laws and their enforcement are seldom aimed at one individual, but at a class.)

The Hindle can hardly be compared to the loud HD bikes. When I ride in neighborhoods like when I visit my mom - I keep the throttle low out of respect and have never even had a turned head from the noise.
(I agree, the Hindle is not a loud pipe compared to what you might hear on a HD, but I would guess most stock HDs - in order to be legal - are quieter. I am sure your mother's neighborhood appreciates your respect and consideration.)

I will continue to enjoy the freedom to have my Hindle - thank you very much.

Having a Hindle is not a "freedom", it is a choice. You have an ability to choose a muffler, not a freedom. You have the ability to drive pretty much where you choose and how you choose - within the rules, regulations and laws of where you are driving. Can you drink and drive? Speed? Block traffic? Illegally park? Force cars off the road? Drive off the roadway as you please? Litter? Ride without a helmet? Ride with a street illegal muffler? Text while you ride? Yes, you can. Do people do that? Yes, every day. Are they being responsible? Can they be held responsible?

When you have choices, you have responsibilities. At some point, the allowable decibels/emissions from motorcycle street mufflers was set (the "species with the guns got annoyed"). Your and my opinions were not taken into account. They still have guns, we still have the choice to annoy them or not.
