• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My reason for traveling slightly faster than the flow of traffic is this:

On divided highways the past few years, my experience has been that the most risky maneuvers by far are people traveling faster than me, behind me in my lane, coming right up to my rear bumper and then swerving into the next lane to pass, narrowly missing me. It has happened more times than I can count. Staying slightly faster than the flow minimizes the number of these incidents. It's easier to observe what's happening ahead than what's happening behind.

For riding around no highway, about 5 km above; if in between lots of traffic, I match them.

Long distance will be highway and backroads as time and exploration dictate; I'm retired, so we have all the time in the world.

One thing, I do try to follow the posted speed in little narrow back country towns - it gives us time to look around a little, and sometimes to find gems.
