• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How do you motivate yourself to do something you don't want to do?

I agree.

Need to find something you enjoy doing to keep your interest,

Dr. say you have to lose or your choice.

Intake vs out take.Got to burn more on out take side then intake.

Always remember skinny is not necessarily healthier
You'll know when you feel healthy.

Life is choices. Most of us become overweight as we grow older because our daily movement and activity does not match that of our youth. I try to keep moving all day and cut my portions of what I eat in two. My Dr. told me to not eat more food than the size of my fist at a meal. It is not so much what you eat but how much you eat. Diets never worked for me but this is much easier. I have kept about 35# off for several years now trying to practice that. I could still stand to lose another 20# and will continue.

Losing weight really is quite simple. Calorie intake vs calories burned. You must cut down calories and move a lot more. Sounds easy does it not? The practice is much harder than the philosophy. I am a diabetic due to my increase in weight along with high blood pressure and knee replacement. So yes I have been there and done that.

Life is very precious, please do not waste yours.

Jack

All calories are equal based on a formula. However, different foods with the same calorie level effect your body differently, regarding weight control. In other words, if a chart shows that to maintain your weight the calorie intake should be 2000/day, that doesn't mean you can eat 2000 calories of anything and maintain your weight.

How does the glycemic index affect the choices that should be made? Is that just for managing blood glucose levels, or can your weight also be affected by it?

Well, I do not mean specifically how to lose weight. I want to know how people get themselves motivated to do something they don't want to do.

It's simple

When you are truly ready, you will find the strength within yourself and do what is necessary. Not a moment before. This is experience talking.
