• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

How cold, is REALLY cold?

Not a treatment that I would be seeking any time soon. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

For me--its really cold at 40 below zero. This takes me all the way back to MN and WI days. We used to count on at least of week of minus 40 every January or so in either state.

My absolute coldest was when we set an all time record at 60 below zero in WI--one time. Now that was cold. The car started, but it took about 10 miles for the wheels to get round again.

My coldest in AK, has been 20 below zero--one time. In my area, the temperatures are more moderate in winter. Zero is about where it bottoms out.

North 350 miles or so (Fairbanks) and you can get minus 70 degrees.

:yikes:.....Well I have seen 45 below in Vermont for one day......But back in 98 Me and 9 buddies went to Maine for a week of snow-mobiling ....in the morning it was minus 36 on avg. and never got higher than -25 .....It was the BEST conditions I've ever experienced in 35 years of the sport.......They groomed every other night, and the trails were billiard table smooth.....we were lucky not to have any track seizures.......This is where I dis-covered Hippo Hands..:roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:............... Mike

:agree: GREAT sledding starts at twenty below!
(Although if it gets much colder than that, and you're running carbs; it's time to re-jet! nojoke)

Really cold is something on the order of current age minus 50°F! :lecturef_smilie:

The coldest I've ever experienced was a year out of college at the Idaho National Lab. Thermometer at the gate showed -60°F. That was on a Monday morning. A contractor doing work had a crawler out in the cold over the weekend. Took them three days with a heater and cover to get it warmed up enough to start!

got to 78 here today

Mungo Like.....

I have had icicles hanging off my elbows riding my MC when I was young and invincible

Minus 21 here last winter, but I heard of -30 down in the valley on the same day. Well lines were frozen all around town due to the frost line reaching 6 feet in some places. But thankfully that cold snap was short lived.
Who knows what this winter will bring - its 70 deg today here in November !

-51 degrees in north bay ontario for three days of snowmobiling. it did get up to -10 degrees each day though. trails were like glass, but the plastic on the sleds were brittle. one guy loved tapped his wife as a joke and his front end exploded into about fifty pieces! (and I mean love tap)

Colder than a well diggers ....

for me I could care less what the number is. It is my body parts that dictate how many layers

Why is it, the older I get, the colder I get..:dontknow:..

Ok, now I need a blanket...:banghead:

Cool Running!!

It was 2 Celsius this morning when I took my RT for a 50 km ride for coffee. Warmer coming back home later on.

Skiing?????

I'm off to go skiing in about an hour. Only 26* F at home, probably a bit colder on the mountian. I have given in to hand warming packets in the gloves though.

After skiing

So after skiing this morning ( a great morning on the slopes considering the date) I took the :spyder2: to Home Depot------meet some pretty girls, kept my wallet, didn't go to Micky D's----and returned home safely. The :spyder2: ( like my old ZX-11) likes the cold air.
