• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Us at V.T.C. we will have new side panels covers that will deflect hot air away from the feet will be available mid march stay tuned.

Other Options

There are two options that I have heard of.

1) Drill holes or completely remove your splash pans ;

2) Make a deflector to funnel the air outwards from you middle panel.

I have decided to try option two and have placed an order with

[email protected]. He will mail it to me today so I expect to have it mounted and tested within the next 3-4 weeks. Note that this is a patented idea and it cost me thirty dollars to purchase.

I do not believe that the vent holes in the splash pans are patented.......yet :D

I have attached a few pictures of this rubber nylon coated deflector and the holes in the splashpan idea that was submitted by Inspectorgadget on this forum.

I will post my findings on the rubber deflector after I have had the chance to mount and test them.

NorthStar,
You forgot the hole behind the radiator, but thanks for injecting the information. I would be interested to know how your solution works, but I see it would prevent me from resting my feet on my Splashguard Footrests.
It seems that there is no single correct solution for everybody :dontknow:
Thanks and keep us posted. C-YA RL

HOT FEET!!

I am so glad to see that this issue is being addressed. Thanks for all of the good info. I will be looking forward to some of those third party solutions before it starts getting hot down here in Memphis.:2thumbs:

Danny: Here are three attempts to address this on my wife's 2010 RT.

One is the very expensive ($800) kit from the Canadian company marketing a vent kit that mounts under the mirrors and drives outside air into the radiator area to force the hot air out. The vents work okay at highway speed but IMO aren't worth the expense and they don't work in slow traffic or when stopped.

The second is a half of a cake container my wife bought at Wal Mart and cut to fit the opening in order to deflect the air flow outside of her right leg.

The third is the Avon Rubber product sold by Monte. For $30 it is a better looking solution to the problem and really does get the hot air moving outside of the problem area.

My wife is sold on this approach.
