• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Horn

I am not fond of the "whimpy" horn on my 2014 RT limited... maybe this has been asked before, but, I will ask again... is there a louder horn that will mount where the oem horn is mounted and work on the present wiring without a relay and doing mods ?????

Yes, the Bad Boy horn. plugs right in, bolts to where the stock horn is now on the 14 RT.

Lots of comments regarding the low quality of air horns, especially the Stebel. The "Bad Boy" is made by Wolo - are these any better? How about the aftermarket Harley horns??

The harbor freight Bad Boy is plenty loud enough for me! Night and day diff over stock. And yes cars now hear me when I use it :)
But if you want louder go with duals or something.

I doubt that I could tell the difference in volume. By "dual" I meant both a hi and low tone at the same time. The Bad Boy has that. My main concern is my lack of mechanical ability. If something has to be drilled or modified, I'm very concerned that I might mess it up. I'm even kind of afraid to pull off a panel. And then there's the wiring.:sour: I'd be happy to do it with some coaching, but I don't know any other Spyder owners. There are lots of things I'm very good at, but wrenching is not one of them. :banghead:

Silly Question

I'm not mechanical at all so please excuse my ignorance...

After installing either the Stebel or Bad Boy air horns do any fault codes/electrical system problems emerge? :dontknow:

I ordered a Bad Boy horn for my Spyder.. when I went to install it.. I was really disappointed with its quality... the negative electrical contact was at an angle instead of straight up.. when I touched it.. it was loose .. I took the horn apart, but there was no way to affix the connector to keep it from moving.. whom ever put this horn together at the factory was not paying attention to their job.. after spending a half hour making a bracket to mount it I jerry-rigged the connection & mounted the horn anyway but fear it won't last long... but I dont' want to ride around without a horn .. and had already cut off the terminals on the OEM horn..
I am very disappointed with the quality of Wo Lo Bad Boy horns.. I guess I should have expected it, because of its cheap price.. if you are thinking about replacement horn for your bike.. might be a good idea to look at other options..

Wow I think you got a messed up one! I had none of those issues with mine.
I would have returned it for another.

PIAA Freeway basters are what I have. They are the same as what comes on a Ford Pickup by the way and can be got from a boneyard. They are extremely loud 120db.
