Going along with this a regional Honda rep, who didn't even know the Neowing concept existed, told me at Wing Ding that Honda often floats many ideas and designs out in the public in order to gauge market receptivity. According to him many, many, designs are floated publicly for every one that ends up in production. My guess is they're just keeping their patents up to date. I've owned two Honda Dealerships and Honda is always late to the game and that's when times were good and everyone could sell anything. Times are lean now and I don't see this coming to market anytime soon. Honda still has a bad taste in their mouth from the lawsuits from the ATC days. nojoke
I agree with Spyd3r. Its an interesting concept but I doubt it will compete with the spyder. Its still a 2 wheeler that wont fall down.TRUE, BUT THE NARROW STANCES MAKES IT LOOK UGLY....
the design is an 'after thought' of a 2 wheeler... the SPYD3R was designed from the ground up as a brand new concept 3 wheeler....
however, i like the idea of the 'swing arm' design... very conducive to tire changes...

My cousin use to race these. He got into some dangerous crashes that hurt him pretty badly. He was so against trikes he told me NOT to buy the spyder.you mean like this....?

i purchased this new in 1984 for my then 8 yr old son... he's now 40 and has put about 100,000 miles of smiles on it, and it's still in perfect condition... the problem with these, was that the owners never learned how to operate them... out'a git dat out-side rear wheel off the ground into a turn....

Which is exactly what a lot of folks want, the 2 wheel feel with the 3 wheel stability. Its still a 2 wheeler that wont fall down.
Blacklightning has got it right. Since BRP dropped the RS theres no 'sports' Spyder with the right ergonomics for me so when my Spyder wears out I'm going to have to go back to two wheels unless there's something like this out there
You could very well be correct. But, due to the fact that most sport bikes (and their riders) like to have their bikes in the higher RPM range, it would have been better if they were to squeeze a few more ponies out of the V-Twin (maybe 120, since that is all they would give us anyway), and then give us a 6th gear. In fact I would be pretty happy if they just did the 6th gear. I have the 3 cylinder (2014 RT), and a V-Twin (2012 RSS). Because of the difference in weight, I cannot say which one is truly faster. But, the thing that I miss the most on the RSS is the lack of a 6th gear for highway traveling. Because of the higher revs (and suspension), I feel like I am one day on a cadillac, and the next day on a corvette. But you never know what they're developing...
Dropping the RS and ST models was actually just getting rid of the Vee-Twin engine.
Perhaps the next version of those bikes will have the triple... :dontknow:
