• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Made to fit me and the way I rest my feet. $7 of steel and some nuts and bolts. Just couldn't see $180 for basically the same thing.

Thanks Mike, one more shot installed.
Installed Hwy footrests.jpg

I would sometimes rest my foot on the water deflector but no more and now more often when on longer trips. We'll be going to the NON- Norcal NON- Rally the second week of sept. taking 2 days to get there. A few others are going to the cancelled rally site---- because ---- we can. Some cool little towns there and " the Avenue of the
Giants" ( redwoods that is)

Thanks Dave. I've always been a fan of the KISS principle but I do like to have good, strong welds. Simple is beautiful.

Padded foot rests.

Well a change did occur anyway. I decided to use some thick, black rubber covers on the pegs. With some foam padding they just fit perfectly --- I now have padded footrests..

Foot Rests

:coffee:....How about giving us some measurements and more pictures. How do you mount the Foot Rests on your Spyder?
I am interested in making a set.

.

Really pretty simple if you work steel and are a good welder. Made out of 1/4" x 1 and 1and 1/4" steel strip. Taper the up right piece to fit a long 3/8" bolt. Cover the bolt with small diameter pipe and some rubber I had floating about the garage. I made them to fit my legs specifically.
They are attached to the factory floor boards on my RTS with 2 ea. 3/8" grade 5 bolts and nyloc nuts( washers of course). They are VERY solid, much more so that the $180.00 hyw pegs I seen on other :spyder2:'s
