• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

For those of us contemplating a long ride, what did you learn from your trip? What preps were you glad you did and what would you do differently?

Deanna 777, I went to Huntsville, AL to visit my aunt. I also did a side trip to Lynchburg, TN. On the way to Lynchburg went to Tims Ford Dam. Thats a nice, sinuous ride up the mountain past farms and critters. Scotts 8826 and Robmorg, what I learned from the trip is this: NEXT TIME REMEMBER THE AIRHAWK!!!:roflblack: OUCH! You'd think, with all the fat on my :cus:, that I wouldn't need it! Also, I took about 10 mins in between gas stops to get off the bike and walk around, smoke a weed (yes, I know, they are bad for me!) and drink some water. That helped. Playing hopscotch with 18 wheelers on those windy mountain roads had it's moments! There were times, when passing a line of 18 wheelers, that my comfort level was really pushed. Whenever I would start to do a pass I would tuck my knees more into the bike and that really helped me feel more secure, as I was doing as much as 85 to almost 90. But I would usually wait until there was someone in front of me that also wanted to pass the trucks and I would "draft" behind them! Leave room for souvenirs! When I got home and started unpacking, my bike was the equivalent of the clown car of spyders!!! I had so much stuff in the bike that the half helmet I brought along had to ride home strapped to the backrest!
