WE MADE IT!

We made it Home Today. It was great meeting everyone. Made many new friends and finially put faces to names. THANKS AGAIN!

Julie and I got home at 8:30 tonight. She was glad to be home to see her mother and father. she had a fabulous time and can't wait for next year. She is still wondering how BRP knew she was coming and had a name tag for her. She was disappointed she missed seeing Teddy. We only had a little rain when we first left but the rest of the trip was great. Thank you for a great time and maybe next year school won't interfear with the Barbarque. :2thumbs:

Took a Wee Break

Butch and I are home at last! 2pm Wednesday. We took a break in Wisconsin Dells for an extra day just to rest after all the storms, rain, and wind. We arrived there on Tuesday around 4pm.

Got home Monday, then straight to work!

Had a great time in Maggie Valley!

Was good to see so many Spyders and to meet ryders from OH (DaGrlz, CincySpyder, and others). Finally registered on Spyderlovers.com since EVERY person I talked to in Maggie Valley said to me "Your on Spyderlovers, right?"

We left for Home about noon on Sunday and took all backroads up to Lexington, KY with a couple of stops. 8.5 hours total, stopped about 8:30. What a GREAT ride :2thumbs:, Spyder was perfect even on the long trip. Felt as good when I got off as when I got on. My wife might disagree, the trip wore her out I think. We did the lat 100 miles and got back to Cincinnati on Monday.

Until next time.

:welcome:

Glad to hear you had a good time at the Owner's Event, and made it home safely.

It was good meeting you FireFly... I am still waiting for you to explain the RT throttle body adjustment screws...

We arrived home fine yesterday afternoon, but would you believe I stumbled on the bottom step of stairs in our home today, and ended up in the emergency room tonight. After a lot of severe pain & xrays I feel lucky there was no broken bones, but the full leg brace I have now will slow me down for a while. I hope to be ryding with the left leg propped up in just a few days!

Just seen this thread. Sorry to here about your misshap. I know that won't slow you down to much on the spyder. Hope your doing better soooon. CJ

Left home on Wed. and stopped in Rocky Mount, VA to visit friends then on to Waynesville, NC. First rain and lightening ahead so pulled off in rest area on I40 just in time to see tree in rest area have top taken out by lightening 50 feet away from where I parked Spyder. Thursday went to Lamonts for some great BBQ and wonderful meeting of Spyderlovers. Len put on Elkas, what a great difference in handling those twisties. Back to Waynesville. Friday and Sat. had a great time at event and oil change which was due ( big savings, $99.99 versus $230 at dealer). Had a great time mingling and talking with such great Spyder lovers. Sunday rode the Tail of the Dragon where I met a father and son about to ride the Dragon so turned around and rode back down the Dragon with them. Headed home on Monday 10AM to beautiful weather all the way with a 4 hour stop to visit friends and arrived home safely at 11:30PM. This was my first event and after a lot of debate with myself of trailer or ride the Spyder I think riding was a good decision and the 622 trailer was a dream behind the RT.

Holy cow Jack. Stay on the Spyder and avoid those dangerous things like climbing stairs. Hope you're back on the move again soon!

Yeah, it has sure slowed me down some but hopefully will get better soon.

Today I cruised the aisles of our local Costco in a batt powered wheel chair.... loads of fun!

Soon I am going to get some help loading my leg brace over the Spyder and just cruise all day.

The pleasure was all mine.

Went to dealer yesterday (cause he sold my wing.) Discussed the difficulty in steering the bike and it looks like I'll be getting a second DPS.
The adjustment the BRP fellow made at MV helped but more was needed through I40

We got home Thursday about noon......took the long way home so I could get more states...up to 27 states now on my Spyder......Tuesday and Wednesday all day rain...but we are home safe and sound...3700 miles this trip....sure was good to meet everyone....can't wait for the next get-to-gether!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I told you that is an awesome run. :ohyea:

Nancy and I took the long way home. We arrived safe and sound this afternoon. Ten states, 11 days, 2,300 miles. Not a huge trip, but a satisfying one. The Blue Ridge Parkway, Skyline Drive, and US-250 were delightful. I have some Spyder and RT-622 issues to address, and a 6K service to perform. I was worried for the last several days, but we made it home without serious, recurring problems. Thankfully the last half of the trip was dry...barely. Really enjoyed spending time with everyone, and meeting some SpyderLovers I hadn't met yet. This was our first vacation longer than an extended weekend...ever! Thanks to all for making it a great one.

Glad to hear you and Nancy made it back home safely Scotty. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I hope the issues with your Spyder are nothing too serious as well.
