• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Holiday Lights

When do you install the Lights?

We do this together Friday morning after Thanksgiving.
I have tried to keep it simple over the last few years.
Lights around the front door and a large window.
Then a large Star in the Window (something I made about 20 years ago).
Seasons Greetings to all.......

Our lights usually go up right after Thanksgiving. By Monday of next week, the show will be on.

We live at the top of a hill and our home will be visible to many. Since we moved to a new home, all of the decorations will be new this year.

Got a new lighted 8ft tree...with a lot of color combinations and a remote. Have the "driveway" lights that come on at dusk. Rather than spending hours of working on home decorations, we have one of those color wheels that also has a lot of color combinations with a remote. The home should also look pretty good. The tree will be in front of the large window facing the outsite.

Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year.

I have normally been the neighborhood scrooge. I have one set of lights, on my gutter, and they stay up all year. Meanwhile, my neighbor beside me, and one across the street have been have these light wars for a few years to see who can get more out.

So a couple years ago I started collecting and building props for an all out computerized christmas light display. And this year is the year it has gone up. Just over 4000 lights, set to music.
We got back from the Norcal rally mid sept, and immediately brought out all the stuff and have been working on it ever since. I put up the lights and props last weekend, but they will not be turned on till Dec 1.

I have been the talk of the neighborhood for a week already, and I hope to blow them all away......

There was a time when I was not into Christmas lighting. I was tempted to have only one decoration in my yard. I just could not find a "Humbug" sign. :roflblack: Fortunately, I outgrew the desire, and have put up some decorations for all the rest of the years.

We had good weather the first of the week so we hurried and put our stuff up. It has been snowing on and off now since Wed. Turned on the lights tonight.

Lights

:coffee: Well, we installed the old Lights and they would not light up.
Now I have a good reason to buy the New LED type Lights.
The wife bought the LED TYPE. Tested and they were really great.
Installed them and my wife was very happy. ......:ohyea: ...:ohyea: .......Seasons Greetings to All.....

Outside lights went up on a warm day at least 2 1/2 weeks before Thanksgiving but just turned on last night. Outside greenery, swags and big wreaths up early Thanksgiving week. All inside decorations went up a couple of weeks before Thanksgiving with the exception of one tree (still needs to be decorated) and the window candles which will go up this afternoon.

Nobody can see my house from a public road. Nobody lives here but me and the dog. The dog is not impressed by lights, so when my kid left home, I stopped putting them up. I got a tiny tree about 18 inches tall already decorated that lives in a plastic bag in the china cabinet. That is the extent of my Christmas decorations.

Video when "live" would be great Ray.

Ok, uploaded better quality vids, not perfect, but better.

Gilligan, probably somewhat better than in the past, but still many, many (many,many,many,many... you get the point) hours of sequencing. I know I spent approx 20 hours on the 12 pains of christmas song alone.
