• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well 2000km in and I hit a deer driving to work, the good, I didn't get hurt, the bad, I messed up my bike, just waiting to hear how bad it is.

Wow your guarding was definitely watching over you. I'm really thankful you were not hurt. Spyders can be fixed/replaced.

Thanks, sadly it's not my first encounter with wildlife, back in 2006 I body checked a moose and hit the ground hard on a 750 katana, one of the reasons I went with the Spyder, real happy with the choice as I'm sure I'd have gone over the bars if I was still riding my ninja.

Yikes...!!

Really glad you are alright. Hard to tell but the spyder doesn'the look that bad sadly the deer looks totalled. ..let us know how solid the F3 is...

Oh No! Not another one!!!

I used to wonder why all the skid marks on Alberta highways went off a perfectly good road into the swamp, then we nearly hit a moose. :yikes: Now, I know why! Even deer can be deadly, also the pesky Mountain Sheep licking salt from the pavement after dark. Glad you survived, some don't!

Glad to hear you made it through safely. Similar happened to me when I hit a very large dog that came out of the ditch with no warning.

Similar front end damage to my 2014 RT. Two weeks and about $2,500 worth of parts and it was back to like new condition. Still going strong today.

Hey how about Bambi? I feel sorry for Bambi she can't be fixed. The F3 can. Glad you survived with no injuries.

I hit one last year on a Gold Wing when it came running out of the woods close to the edge of the road with no warning.....I hit the deer and was able to keep the bike upright with only front end damage to the bike... I was Lucky..

I'm glad you're OK. I hope the repairs to your Spyder won't be too bad . . or too expensive. I guess that's what insurance is for.

No but you could have cut the back straps off and had a good BBQ. BTW for all of you who have forgotten the story Bambi was a male deer and after surviving the fire became the monarch of the forest.

Very good friend of mine hit a deer last year traveling about 60mph. He was virtually uninjured with only bruising to his right hand. Bike suffered about $6000 in damage. Had he been on 2 wheels the outcome may have been different. He would have been down for sure. Glad to hear you're ok. That is a definite advantage to these machines. Chris

I've twice had deer hit my car, usually the front fender. One of them rolled across the hood; amazing how much $$ a few dents- and hood if I recall- can cost, Lol  :banghead:.
