• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hindle question....

I have a Hindle exhaust and although I love the sound, the folk who live in the apartment above my
garage have given some polite and gentle hints about me returning after midnight and waking them.

I have also been frowned at by a couple of the local traffic cops so I'm going to have to do something to
soften the note.

Is it possible to fit a dB killer in the end pipe? What is the actual diameter of the outlet pipe?
Basically what's the best way to make the pipe 30% quieter or less raucous?

I highly doubt your going to get it that much quieter with any add-ons. Probably going to have to get new tenants for the apartment....:D

Let's see..!!

A while back you mentioned repacking the exhaust. There may be a tighter weave that can tone it down. But outside of putting your foot over the pipe end when you get close don't know of any bolt on solutions...:dontknow:

My RS had the hindle on it when I bought it. After about a year my social conscience forced me to put the original back on. It is a lot quieter and I don't mind the sound. But I'm not a fan of V-twin sounds in general. The way I ride these days any performance downgrade was not noticeable.

You might be approaching that point sorry to say.

Thanks all....I am NOT putting on the standard exhaust! It's a bloody monstrosity!
I think the Hindle will have to go to an exhaust specialist which is a few miles away
and have them re-build the silencer with maybe an internal baffle as well as re-packing.

Hi OJ ,
there is a decibel killer available for the two brothers pipe , wonder if that could be made to fit ?

You could pack some. Steel wool in it and cover it with a wire screen, that would cut down on some of the noise

Do what I did when I was courting and switch the engine off at the top of the road and freewheel down. Worked for me and we are still married 40 years later.
I fitted a TBR P1-X power tip to my TBR canister as I wanted the looks rather than the noise, still achieved a better sound than the stock exhaust and lost 9kg at the same time.
