• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Motorcyclist 2014 Spyder Article

Riding an open air vehicle like a motorcycle is supposed to be stress free and fun. Spyder makes that possible more so than any other vehicle i have owned in the last 10 years.

We were forced by circumstances to buy our Spyder RT after a stroke left me with a balance problem. I kept my wonderful BeeEmm R1150RT for two years hoping that my brain would mend itself and allow me to get back to normal -- I could imagine leaning the bike over to take a corner but knew that steering it back up to vertical again would be a hit and miss affair and I wasn't prepared to risk an accident. Anyways I gave up the wait after 2 years, sold the bike and invested in a Spyder RT using a big chunk of our "rainy day" money.

No regrets, it was money well spent on a hobby we love and the RT, although a trike, keeps our place among the wider motorcycle fraternity. Nobody seems to dislike the Spyder, we get the thumbs up from the cab windows of truck drivers as we pass by and big grins from pedestrians out shopping in town, we even get friendly waves from Gold Wing enthusiasts, which never used to happen when riding our BeeEmm!

I was one who never owned a motorcycle of any kind before my Spyder.

I'm with you. I have been on 4 wheelers, dirt bikes - but never on a Road Motorcycle. The dealer that I test drove a Spyder at asked me if I rode before, I said "nope" and he said that was a good thing because I would not have to fight the habits that a 2 wheel driver has. The test drive was awesome, and I love the sound that comes from my 2008 Spyder - and I would not want to trade it for the better mileage wimpy 2014 sounding Spyder for it. :roflblack:

Kidding - if I could afford another Spyder, I am certain that my wife wouldn't mind getting a 2014 for herself. I will play with the one that I have now for a few more years.
