There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hindle exhaust making passenger smell like fumes

Has anyone figure out how to adjust the exhaust flow where a passenger will not smell. My wife when riding on back always ends up smelling like exhaust fumes just curious if anyone can help or has had same issue. We are rising a 2012 Rss
thanks

Did you install a larger windshield? A larger windshield can cause more backdraft, and bring the exhaust fumes forward.

I am curious about what the point of the post is about for starter point.

Are you saying your rider ends up smelling like exhaust fumes? Yuck!

Or are you saying that the passenger is smelling exhaust fumes? Double yuck! That could give a nasty headache or "carbon monoxide poisoning" if the ride was long enough!

Wondering what you may have inadvertly done to change the airflow pattern around the riders? Can you temporally re-install the OEM mUffler or exhaust system to make sure it is the fault of the exhaust system?

Don't know..!!

We have the Hindle exhaust but no fumes problem. I did install the K&N air filter run high test and seafoam which could make the difference. We are mostly on open roads and scooting along but even in the heat and traffic don't notice fumes...you may have a build up in the packing that a good run on the open road could clear out...good luck..!!

I have the hindle exhaust and a tall CalSci windshield and at times we get a very strong exhaust smell. All depends on wind direction. I just deal with it. I'm used to riding sleds and you DEFINATLY smell like exhaust after riding one of those

another option

you can make a simple flat bracket to lower your pipe closer to the ground. this definately helps alot with exhaust fumes, when you have a bigger w/s. plus it looks cool, and is also quieter, as the noise is pointed straight out the rear, instead of upward behind your head. credit to bigarm for this mod.

On my 08Gs, After i put on an F4 Large windshield with side wings i would get an exhaust back draft with the stock muffler, In the summer when i removed the wings the back draft would stop....
Could be your windshield?:dontknow:

That used to happen to me. It turned out I had bad Y gaskets. Once in installed the Honda gaskets, that problem disappeared. That was over 20,000 miles ago...no problems since.

Hindle Exhaust Smell

Do you have Saddle Bags or No Saddle bags??> Saddle Bags may give you more direct air flow out the back thus reducing the chance of exhaust odors.

I will have to have this checked I am coming up on 1,200 miles and was going to get services at 1,500 miles switching to synthetic oil
