• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Highway pegs seem uncomfortable

D,
The odd "forward tilt" of the oem floorboards only looks odd...
It functions perfectly! :2thumbs:

On my 2010 with I.S.C.I. floorboards; I never realized how much time I spent riding with only my toes touching...
With the '14; I'm flatfooted, and happy! :D

Sounds like you need to install a recliner on your Spyder!

Now that's what I need! 64 miles yesterday and my thighs and knees are killing me today.

I have had the seal floorboards on both my 09 RS and my 12 RTS and I would not be without them. I can move my feet forward and back whenever I want and in several positions. On long trips, with my wife riding shotgun, when I move my feet up to the forward position she can move hers to the back of the floorboards and give her legs a different position as well.

Thanks for the input. Both John and I were hoping that--since I will have 1K invested in the OEM's.

Holding your feet up but not really relaxing the leg/hip all the way isn't going to give you the same feeling as an actual highway peg. I would try sitting on someone's spyder who has a set of pegs to see. There will be plenty of them around at spyderfest.

Rich, I have done the exact same simulation. And I get the same aches. Still on the fence about getting some pegs.

My only relief seems to be when the wife starts driving and I sit in the passenger seat. I get to extend my legs then.

Curious to see how everyone else feels about the pegs.

I had the same experience.
I had ordered my NBV's brackets from Lamont while I was waiting for delivery of my Spyder.
Sitting on the showroom model, kept thinking I flushed a couple hundred buck down the drain.
Going through the different position I thought I'd put the pegs I couldn't believe how quickly I'd cramp up!:yikes:
All I have to say is there's no end to adjusting the NBV's and I love them! Great addition to the Spyder and comfort for this rider!
Keep in mind when you're putting your feet on imaginary pegs there's nothing there to support your legs...

I had foot pegs originally and while it was ok, I kept feeling as though my feet were going to slip off. I wish that I had a lip or catch that my heel could have rested on so I wouldn't have the sensation of them slipping. I switched to the seal floor boards and they are a lot better with the ability to move your feet around.

Is it me? I don't have them yet and want them, but when I simulate where my feet would be at all different angles, my hips just ache. Its Not bad, but its not a comfortable position for me... funny thing is on long cruises, I actuallyl rest my entire leg out on the plastic cowling and that feels wonderful...
Just curious if I'm alone in this quandry. Or should I still install them and see if the ole body can adjust.

Rich
